Broncos at Jets 5 questions: What’s it like to finally a QB in New York?
Mile High Report Mile High Report

The Jets seem to have a QB and offense that compliments their talented D. How are fans feeling about the start?

The Denver Broncos play the New York Jets in what's becoming an annual occurrence.

Now, instead of Zach Wilson at quarterback for the Jets (2-1), it’s Aaron Rodgers. And the way the New York offense looked against the New England Patriots, it seems there’s an offense to finally complement a really good defense.

Meanwhile, the Broncos (1-2) are coming off a big win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

To preview Sunday’s game, we go “behind enemy lines” to get a feel for the Jets heading Sunday’s game with MacGregor Wells from Gang Green Nation.

MHR: How good is it to have a healthy Aaron Rodgers? What is it like to finally have a competent QB?

MacGregor: For a Jets fan it is an unfamiliar thing to have one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. An entire generation of Jets fans have grown up knowing nothing but mediocre to absolutely horrendous quarterbacking. Watching Aaron Rodgers surgically carve up a pretty good Patriots defense last week was beyond belief. Finally, in most games, it’s the Jets that have the advantage at the most important position in team sports. It is glorious.

MHR: What is the feeling amongst Jets fans heading into Sunday’s game, and how do they feel about the season's start?

MacGregor: I’m not sure I can speak for all Jets fans. We’re a diverse group with a lot of different perspectives. My sense is that for many Jets fans, it’s a moment of, is this too good to be true? Is the other shoe about to drop? Is the team destined to once again sink into the mire of more mediocrity, or worse? It’s been so long since the team hasn’t been a punch line that many are pretty cautious before starting to believe in this team. We really don’t know how good this team can be.

If Rodgers is close to vintage Rodgers and the Jets defense performs as well as it has the last few seasons, this could legitimately be a Super Bowl contender. There’s a lot of talent on this Jets team, but there are also plenty of question marks. There’s a long way to go before Jets fans can settle into this whole contender mindset. This Sunday will be another hurdle for the team to clear. Can the Jets bounce back from the emotional high of vanquishing their Patriots demons last week and not suffer a letdown against the Broncos? We don’t yet know the answer. If the Jets can take care of business at home this week, more Jets fans will start believing. If not, well, out comes the Same Old Jets storyline.

MHR: How do the Jets get the win on Sunday? What is the plan of attack offensively and defensively?

MacGregor: On offense, I think you’ll see the Jets try to establish the running game early with Breece...
