Both teams have a receiver trending up and another trending down. But the Chiefs just lost their kicker!
Just three more days until the Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs entertain the football-loving portion of the world with another clash of perennial AFC front-runners. But exactly who will be on Sunday’s list of characters participating in the show is still very much in question.
Here’s a look at how the Bills and Chiefs are dealing with injuries this week.
Wide receiver Curtis Samuel has played the last two weeks despite being limited throughout practices. Now he’s practicing fully, so no doubt he’ll play Sunday. The bigger question mark the past few weeks has been with wide receiver Amari Cooper. He injured his wrist after just a game and a half in a Bills’ uniform. Since that time, Cooper’s been questionable right up to game time, but ruled out before before kickoff, and seen in a cast. Now he’s catching passes and feeling optimistic about playing in Sunday’s game against the Chiefs.
Spencer Brown injured his ankle in Buffalo’s win in Indianapolis last week. He returned to play but has yet to make a practice. The problem seems to stem from the fact that the injury is to his outside ankle when he lines up at right tackle — his usual position. If he can get some practice in on Friday, we could see him Sunday. I would expect him to enter the weekend with at least a questionable designation however.
Tight end Dalton Kincaid hasn’t practiced, and unlike Brown, his injury took him out of Sunday’s game. With tight ends Dawson Knox and Quintin Morris (relatively) healthy, I would expect to see him ruled out before the weekend begins.
Head coach Sean McDermott told us on Monday that neither Coleman nor Milano would play this weekend. But, in case you were wondering, both have been at practice — and Milano looks like he’ll have no problem making the active roster at the end of his 21-day practice window.
At the start of the week, Chiefs’ head coach Andy Reid said he didn’t expect either Omenihu or Pacheco to be added to the active roster before Sunday’s game. While the pair has practiced this week, it’s been in a limited fashion — indicating they are staying the course of another week of work before being active on game day.
On Thursday, the Chiefs announced that kicker...
