Coleman checked a lot of athletic and intangible boxes for One Bills Drive

Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane met with members of the media following the team’s selection of wide receiver Keon Coleman out of Florida State. Selecting Coleman at pick 33 to open Round 2 of the 2024 NFL Draft, the Bills were finally able to exhale after injecting the team’s receiver room with much-needed talent.

Beane mentioned how excited the team was to get Coleman, and that he was part of a diverse group players the team had in mind at 33.

Discussing what stands out most to him about Coleman, Beane mentioned his “(b)ig physical size,” and that he “plays above the rim.” Beane added that “(h)e really drops his weight (at the) top of (a) route, and gets separation. Some guys, due to their stiffness, they struggle to separate from the DBs.”

Beane went on to talk about his wingspan and contested-catch ability, which may speak to the team’s priority in re-building the receiver group.
