Marco Wilson appeared in 10 games this season for New England.
Marco Wilson will head from the AFC East to the AFC North.
The Cincinnati Bengals claimed the cornerback off waivers from the New England Patriots on Tuesday, according to the NFL transaction wire.
Wilson, 25, departed from the 53-man roster in Foxborough as fellow corner Alex Austin returned from injured reserve to begin the week. He saw action in 10 games this fall after landing as a waiver claim last December and renegotiating his contract in March. Those appearances spanned 206 snaps on defense, 48 snaps on special teams and 15 total tackles.
A season-low Pro Football Focus coverage grade of 28.9 arrived last Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams.
The 6-foot, 191-pound Florida product entered the NFL with the Arizona Cardinals in the fourth round of the 2021 class. He went on to start 37 of his 43 games with the organization that drafted him. Over that span, Wilson recorded 158 tackles to go with three forced fumbles and three interceptions, including a touchdown return en route to NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors.
The Patriots move forward with six cornerbacks on the roster. In addition to the activation of Austin, the depth chart includes Christian Gonzalez, Marcus Jones, Jonathan Jones, Isaiah Bolden and rookie Marcellas Dial Jr.
