Browns vs Bengals kicks off AFC North competition for Week 7

Week 6 in the AFC North has wrapped up. The Baltimore Ravens look to be the best team in the division by far and the Pittsburgh Steelers are winning but the QB questions are still prevalent. As far as the Cleveland Browns go, everything is going wrong. With the Cincinnati Bengals, something feels off despite the victory.

Anyway, let’s do the rankings.

1. Baltimore Ravens

They are the best team in the division, not a debate

2. Pittsburgh Steelers

4-2, but the record seems misleading

3. Cincinnati Bengals

Something is wrong with this team, even though they won.

4. Cleveland Browns

So much for hope.

Baltimore is the best team in the division, offense balanced and dangerous

After a slow start to the season in which the team was 0-2, the Baltimore Ravens have won 4 straight and offensively they look to be balanced and dangerous. Quarterback Lamar Jackson continues to do what he always does. There is a threat in both the running and passing game. If the season ended today, Jackson would no doubt be my favorite to win the MVP once again. Last season, he evolved as a passer and it’s carried over to this year.

Running back Derrick Henry helps Baltimore out so much, if the team needs to close out games Henry is there to do it. Wide receiver Zay Flowers had a career outing today, which is great news for Baltimore. Washington Commanders rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels had a solid outing, but the Ravens defense played well enough to prevent a shootout (despite the pass defense not being great).

Baltimore’s identity is obvious. Balanced, yet explosive offense with a bend but don’t break defense. Not a Super Bowl contender yet, but playoff contender for sure.

Steelers beat short-handed Raiders, but questions about the QB still persist

The Pittsburgh Steelers are 4-2. Are they legit? No, despite the team beating the short-handed Las Vegas Raiders. The Steelers have shown this season that they will often play down to their competition and lose a game they have no business losing and it was trending that way. However, the Steelers were able to force turnovers defensively and find some success running the ball against a Raiders defensive line missing defensive tackle Christian Wilkins.

Running back Najee Harris had a stellar game, including this touchdown run:

As far as the quarterback play goes, Justin Fields didn’t pass the ball well today but he made up for it with his legs. Fields’s dual-threat ability is the advantage he has over quarterback Russell Wilson. Fields’s passing is inconsistent at times but the Steelers would be wise to just let him be the starter for the rest of the year.

As far as the team goes, they aren’t a quality playoff team considering the flaws the roster has but they aren’t bad and, with Mike Tomlin, could still make the postseason.

Decent at best.
