Cleveland picks up its first home win of the season, one of many firsts on the day.
It was a day of firsts on Sunday for the Cleveland Browns against the Baltimore Ravens at Huntington Bank Field.
Most importantly, the Browns took down the Ravens, 29-24, for their first home win and first AFC North Division win of the season.
While a rebound from 1-6 to a return to the playoffs is still a long shot, the game was the first step in the right direction after five weeks of the team consistently hurting itself.
Other firsts include:
- The first time the Browns have hit the 20-point mark in a game all season.
- The first time a Cleveland quarterback has thrown for more than 200 yards all season, as Jameis Winston passed for 334 yards, which is also the most by a Browns quarterback in their first game, surpassing Kelly Holcomb’s 326 yards in 2002.
- The first time a Cleveland quarterback passed for three touchdowns since Joe Flacco in Week 17 of last season.
- The first time a team won a game with Winston as its starting quarterback since Week 1 of the 2022 season.
- The first career touchdown reception for wide receiver Cedric Tillman.
- The first home win against the Ravens since Week 15 of the 2022 season.
- The first time they scored more than two touchdowns in a game this season.
- The first time the Browns converted more than 50 percent of their third downs all season.
- The first time the Browns came back to win a game since Week 15 of last season.
- The first win by the Browns where head coach Kevin Stefanski was not calling the plays on offense since the playoff win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 2020 season.
- Tomorrow will also be the first Victory Monday in six weeks.
And in a season where almost nothing has gone right, that might be the best first of the day.
