Bills vs. Chiefs | Josh Allen vs. Patrick Mahomes | Buffalo Rumblings vs. Arrowhead Pride — no matter how you slice it, this is Round 8 of what’s become an epic series!

The Buffalo Bills and Kansas City Chiefs are just hours away from kickoff, and this Week 11 game is the hottest NFL ticket in Week 11. The eighth time that quarterbacks Josh Allen and Patrick Mahomes have faced off in their professional careers, today’s game has the potential to play out just as dramatically as any among the prior seven.

Five questions returns this week to dig a little bit into what’s made the Chiefs tick this season, and where they’re at as the lone undefeated team 11 weeks into the regular season. I spoke with Jared Sapp of Arrowhead Pride to get us ready for this afternoon’s showdown.

Below, we touch on everything from the depth of KC’s roster, concerns about losing kicker Harrison Butker, and thoughts on rookie wide receiver Xavier Worthy. Plus, what, if any, Chiefs kryptonite exists, what’s most surprising about KC this year, and whether this afternoon is a must-win game for Kansas City.

1. By and large, the national media has made a point to focus on KC’s injuries, but none have proven detrimental to winning. Would you say this is the deepest Chiefs roster since Mahomes became a starter, and what’s made things click?

The Chiefs were unable to really build on winning Super Bowl LIV five years ago because their depth was immediately tested the following season to disastrous results in their first back-to-back attempt. Better depth all around is the biggest reason why these less exciting squads have had more sustained success.

I think this has to be the deepest roster Mahomes has been on. They were fortunate to do well on Day Three of the draft over the last few seasons to have options who have been in the system for multiple seasons. The Chiefs were also fortunate to be able to find reinforcements like Kareem Hunt and JuJu Smith-Schuster who came in already knowing much of the offense. I think it will be hard to sustain even one more major injury, however.

2. How big of a concern is losing Harrison Butker — and was his injury a result of his current kicking form, or was the form borne out of a need to compensate for a pre-existing knee issue?

I am very concerned about losing Butker. It has been better since the bye week, but the Chiefs have been inconsistent in the red zone and have greatly depended on the league’s best kicker.

The injury has been a weird situation as he has not been on the injury report implying any regular treatment on a knee injury. Some have noticed his left knee going to the ground after kicks this season, implying he has been playing hurt. There is some speculation he missed the landing zone on the final kickoff against Denver last...
