Linebackers, cornerbacks, and receivers who could help the Rams
Other than trading away Tre’Davious White if they get a team to bite, the Rams are likely to make no changes at next week’s trade deadline. However, if the Rams beat the Seahawks, end up in first place in the NFC West, and want to make one more bold move, these 5 players would be worth it.
The Rams aren’t afraid to take a chance on a player that was seen as a failure at a previous stop. They did this with Dante Fowler Jr. back in 2018, Austin Corbett in 2019, and Kevin Dotson in 2023.
The Jaguars have fallen to 2-6 and may look to move on from players that they don’t see as having a future on the team. Devin Lloyd got out-snapped by Foyesade Oluokun and Ventrell Miller in Week 8 and the former first-round pick is having a solid season. According to PFF, Lloyd is the seventh-highest graded run defending linebacker and he’s only missed one tackle this season.
If the Rams traded for Lloyd now, they would have the ability to exercise his fifth-year option at the end of the season and he could be a long-term answer at a position of need.
Projected Trade Package: 2025 4th Round Pick
Due to his small frame, Forbes has had more tackling issues than some expected coming from the SEC. However, a change of scenery may be what he needs and he has the ball-production and speed that the Rams like at corner. Had he fallen to the second-round in the 2023 NFL Draft, he likely would have been considered.
Forbes has fallen out of favor with the Washington Commanders. He was a healthy scratch two weeks ago and played just 10 percent of the snaps last week. If they can get him for a day-3 pick swap, he’s a player that could make some sense, especially if the Rams end up moving on from Tre White. That doesn’t take away from the concerns with his smaller frame. At the very least, Forbes provides some depth this year with some upside.
Projected Trade Package: 2025 Day 3 Pick Swap
It would be surprising to see the Rams give up as many assets as it would take to get Tee Higgins. However, you can never say never and Higgins would give the Rams exactly what they need on the outside to pair with Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua. Higgins is also set to be a free agent and the Rams would get a jump start on being able to negotiate a long-term deal with the Bengals wide receiver.
The issue here is the trade compensation. The Bengals aren’t simply going to give their star wide receiver away even if they are 3-5. When the Rams were in trade talks for Cooper Kupp, the reported compensation that they were looking for...
