Future draft capital could help the Cowboys find immediate help.

The Dallas Cowboys could be flush with draft picks in 2025 after recently being projected to receive the max number of four compensatory picks next year. They could choose to sit on that extra draft capital for use in the 2025 NFL Draft or they could go ahead and put it towards finding some immediate help for this upcoming season.

With several areas still of concern, even after the eight rookies they've added through the 2024 NFL Draft, the Cowboys would be wise to leave no stone unturned. There are players out there who can still help them whether it be via free agency, waiver wire, or trade. Today, we are going to look at the latter in the hopes of hitting some home runs via trade additions.

DT Siaki Ika, Cleveland Browns

After being selected by the Cleveland Browns in the third round (98th overall) in the 2023 NFL Draft, Siaki Ika may already find himself looking for another team to play for in 2024. The Browns are currently stacked at the defensive tackle position after drafting Michael Hall Jr. and Jowon Briggs . Both of these players could end up pushing Siaki off the roster, especially after he only played a measly 100 defensive snaps (9.42%) last season.

At 6'3", 335-pounds, Ika fits that big bodied, space-eating mold Mike Zimmer likes along the defensive interior in his defensive scheme. Pairing him with Dallas' first-round pick in 2023, Mazi Smith, would add some much-needed beef to the Cowboys DL and immediately improve their run defense. By parting ways with one of their four projected compensatory picks next year, this trade could help upgrade/solidify a significant roster concern at DT.

WR Treylon Burks, Tennessee Titans

Treylon Burks was drafted 18th overall in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Tennessee Titans in the hopes that he could help replace A.J. Brown, who they had just traded away to the Philadelphia Eagles. Unfortunately, he's only been able to suit up for a total of 22 games due to injuries in two seasons and has only tallied a total of 49 catches for 665 yards and one touchdown. As a potential bust, he could be on the move via trade.

The Cowboys are in search for an upgrade at WR3 behind CeeDee Lamb and Brandin Cooks. Burks has the potential to dominate in that role if he can overcome his reoccurring injuries. A change of scenery could definitely help in that regards and playing with a QB the caliber of Dak Prescott would also be the step in the right direction of him overcoming his "bust" label. This trade could be a win-win for the former Arkansas WR and the Cowboys.
