Patriots, Bengals hold the top picks in the upcoming NFL draft
Welp, here we are again friends. We are not even to the second week in October and it is NFL draft talk time for the Cleveland Browns. At 1-4, the Browns are highly unlikely to make the playoffs. If they somehow turn the season around and become a competitor we will pivot back to postseason discussions.
For now, Cleveland has gone through what was considered the easiest part of their schedule and has to face a much more difficult task to finish the season.
Hence, the NFL draft talk.
The draft order will change many many times over the next few months but, five weeks in (except for Monday Night Football which will not impact the top of the draft order) the Browns are currently slotted in as the fourth overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft:
The top six teams are tied with 1-4 records while the Tennessee Titans sit at 1-3 on their bye week. When teams are tied, strength of schedule is the first tiebreaker. The easier your schedule, the higher your pick.
The Browns strength of schedule has them tied with the Jaguars but their head-to-head victory puts them behind.
How surprised and sad/angry are you that NFL draft talk is now the appropriate direction for Browns coverage on October 7th? Share your feelings in the comment section below
