NFL draft stock watch is what Browns fans are mostly left with

The last time the Cleveland Browns had the top overall pick in the NFL draft, QB Baker Mayfield was the somewhat surprise selection. Mayfield helped Cleveland fans unlock the beer fridges and helped the Browns return to the playoffs a few years later.

The 2024 season is trending similarly to the 2017 season except Cleveland was able to pull off a victory already. Currently, the Browns are tied with five other teams with just one victory this season. Two of those teams had their bye weeks this week meaning they are a half-game better than the other four in the race for the worst record in the NFL.

Cleveland’s offense is the worst in the league in a decade and the Browns are sticking with QB Deshaun Watson despite some horrible play and data to back up pulling him.

Following their Week 6 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, Cleveland moved up slightly in the NFL draft slotting, to the second pick:

  1. New England Patriots: 1-5, .452 Strength of Schedule
  2. Cleveland Browns: 1-5, .510 SOS
  3. Jacksonville Jaguars: 1-5, .521 SOS
  4. Carolina Panthers: 1-5, .535 SOS
  5. LA Rams: 1-4, .500 SOS
  6. Tennessee Titans: 1-4, .542 SOS

Seven other teams currently have two wins with the New York Jets having a chance for a third on Monday Night Football.
