DeAndre Hopkins says Chiefs’ Andy Reid has ‘pushed him as a player’

The veteran wide receiver is embracing his opportunity in Kansas City.

Wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins has played 177 games in his 12-year NFL career. Not many players — or even coaches — have the experience and knowledge Hopkins has gained on his way to over 12,000 career receiving yards and 81 touchdowns.

Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid is one of the exceptions. His 26 seasons as head coach of the Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles give him a respect that Hopkins immediately embraced.

“I haven’t been here that long, but coach Reid has definitely pushed me as a player,”...

Should the Chiefs sign a veteran tackle?

Should the Chiefs sign a veteran tackle?

As Kansas City pursues its third straight championship, would a veteran tackle give the team a better chance?

Coming into the 2024 season, we all wanted to know what the Kansas City Chiefs would do at left tackle. Donovan Smith had been a veteran stopgap at the position for most of 2023 — but in 2024, Kansas City was going after a third consecutive Super Bowl win with second-year player Wanya Morris and second-round rookie Kingsley Suamataia as its only options.

In my mind, both of these Day 2 picks needed some polish. They each had a set of traits...

After Further Review: Denver Broncos vs Kansas City Chiefs

Breaking down the excellent officiating and invisibility superpower seen from the week 10 matchup between the Denver Broncos and the Kansas City Chiefs

In the Denver Broncos 16-14 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, there were 9 accepted penalties and no challenges. These numbers show low official involvement, a clear strategic choice that had both merit and drawbacks.

When to call a minor foul

The rules of football exist to accomplish three task – make the game safe, fun, and fair. Minor fouls, enforced as five yard penalties with no loss of down or automatic first down, pretty much...

Andy Reid clarifies Wanya Morris’ knee issue

The Chiefs’ head coach explains Wanya Morris’ injury and discusses their current situation at left tackle.

Kansas City Chiefs offensive lineman Wanya Morris briefly left the game in the second quarter of Sunday’s victory over the Denver Broncos. Head coach Andy Reid later revealed he aggravated a bone bruise in his right knee – an injury Morris has been dealing with all season long.

“He (Wanya Morris) got on the stationary bike where he was waiting to get the thing (injury) under control there,” Reid said after Wednesday’s practice session. “He tweaks it every now and then and that’s what...

Bo Nix gets NFL Rookie of the Week

Bo Nix gets NFL Rookie of the Week

There was at least that win for Week 10.

Being named NFL Rookie of the Week for Week 10 wasn’t the “win” Bo Nix would have preferred, but the Broncos’ quarterback certainly deserved it.

Against the Chiefs last week, Nix completed 22-of-30 passes for 215 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions (115 QBR). It was Nix’s third game this season with a passer rating of at least 100 and his fourth game with multiple passing scores.

Head coach Sean Payton reiterated during Wednesday’s presser a common theme about Nix since training camp — he doesn’t act like a rookie....

Raiders offensive coordinator 2025: Who do you want?

Raiders offensive coordinator 2025: Who do you want?

There are some decent early possible candidates

The Las Vegas Raiders will likely be in the market for a new offensive coordinator in early 2025 after last week’s decision to part ways with offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, offensive line coach James Cregg and quarterbacks coach Rich Scangarello.

We’re not even in the first stages of the search and perhaps interim offensive coordinator Scott Turner, who was previously the Raiders’ pass-game coordinator, will do enough to keep the job. Also, the list will evolve as potential candidates will be became available in the coming months who may not be a logical...

The AP staff (and our readers) pick the Chiefs-Bills game

Let’s see what AP staffers (and readers) think about Sunday’s game between Kansas City and Buffalo.

Before the Kansas City Chiefs’ Week 10 game against the Denver Broncos, our panel of Arrowhead Pride contributors all picked Kansas City to win, combined to predict a 26-15 victory. Compared to the 16-14 final, the prognostication carried 20 points of error: it missed the point spread by nine, the Chiefs’ score by 10 and the Broncos’ score by one. Just a quarter of our staffers expected a close Kansas City win, compared to nearly half of our readers.

*In Week 11, the Chiefs...

NFL Combine staying in Indianapolis through 2026

The league announced on Thursday that the NFL Combine will stay in Indianapolis through 2026.

On Thursday morning, the NFL announced that the NFL Combine will be staying in Indianapolis through 2026 as the league and city continue a partnership that seems destined to last forever.

Each and every offseason, the idea of the combine being held elsewhere continues to be floated around as if the structure and setup in Indy isn’t the best and has been for the past four decades since it began in 1987.

The NFL began accepting bids in 2021 from other potential host cities but...

Chiefs’ pass defense revealed holes to patch up against Broncos

The Chiefs limited Denver’s offense, but the big plays nearly cost them their undefeated record.

To set up a potential game-winning field goal against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 10, the Denver Broncos needed six yards to convert third down. Rookie quarterback Bo Nix dropped back, stepped up from edge pressure and found wide receiver Courtland Sutton open past the sticks.

It was the number-one receiver’s sixth catch of the day, including a 32-yard touchdown that pushed Denver’s lead to 14-3 in the first half. Cornerback Trent McDuffie was in man-to-man coverage on Sutton for both crucial moments. The...

Chargers projected to end Year 1 under Jim Harbaugh with double-digit victories

NFL.com’s Cynthia Frelund projects the Chargers to finish 10-7 in Jim Harbaugh’s first season as head coach.

The Chargers are 10 weeks into the 2024 season — their first under head coach Jim Harbaugh — and they’ve already exceeded their win total from a year ago with their sixth victory earned last Sunday over the Titans.

With eight games left to go, it’s unknown just how strong the Chargers will finish this season, especially given just how difficult the remaining schedule is compared to the first half of the year.

Starting this week against the 4-6 Bengals (but actually they’re...
