Seahawks stock watch: Who’s up, who’s down after Week 1 loss to the 49ers

Seahawks stock watch: Who’s up, who’s down after Week 1 loss to the 49ers

Well that one isn’t going down easy anytime soon… It seemed like everything was there for the taking for the Seattle Seahawks against a team that has been a hindrance for years. Seattle’s former signal caller, Geno Smith, slayed the dragon last year. His 13-yard walk off scoring scramble broke a six-game losing streak against the San Francisco 49ers and seemed to signal a possible sea change. I’d almost like to link that play, but this is a new season.

San Francisco has faced injuries, offseason personnel changes and the seeming improvement of the rest of the division this year....

NFL Week 2 betting odds: Seahawks open as underdogs to Steelers

NFL Week 2 betting odds: Seahawks open as underdogs to Steelers

After a tough Week 1, the Seattle Seahawks find themselves as underdogs again for Week 2.

According to FanDuel Sportsbook, the Pittsburgh Steelers are 2.5-point favorites (the same number as the team’s home loss against the San Francisco 49ers) against the Seattle Seahawks in next Sunday’s matchup at Acrisure Stadium.

The over/under for this matchup is 40.5 points. A bit surprising considering Aaron Rodgers is coming off a 4-TD game, but completely in line when you consider the Seahawks’ offense’s failure in the opener.

The Steelers’ defensive line will have a completely favorable matchup against the Seahawks’ offensive line, which...

Ted’s Talk: Seahawks lucky to not get blown out by weakened 49ers

Ted’s Talk: Seahawks lucky to not get blown out by weakened 49ers

The Seattle Seahawks offense was right on the doorstep of the end zone, ready to close out the game. Sam Darnold, the new Seahawks QB was going to be the hero in his first home game at Lumen Field.

Then, Abe Lucas got bull rushed by Nick Bosa just close enough to Darnold for his windup to hit Lucas right in the keester, causing a fumble which was recovered by San Francisco to seal a 17-13 loss.

Honestly, Seattle should’ve gotten run out of the building. The offense looked like garbage and couldn’t stay on the field. The defense struggled...

Words Of Prey, Week 1: Seahawks pick on Purdy but can’t stick the landing

Words Of Prey, Week 1: Seahawks pick on Purdy but can’t stick the landing

If Week 1 was made for overreactions, then the Seattle Seahawks opener was made for Week 1.

Mike Macdonald trusts his defense too much. Kyle Shanahan is cooked after the opening script. Sam Darnold won’t lose you games, nor will he win you any. Brock Purdy got paid and promptly turned back into a pumpkin. Despite all the talent, Riq Woolen is a space cadet. The OL still can’t do its job, not when it matters. Niners remain snakebit for health. Will Seattle ever be able to run the ball in the red zone? Should’ve paid Geno. Maybe DK too....

Post-game live reaction: Seahawks falter late, lose to 49ers again

Post-game live reaction: Seahawks falter late, lose to 49ers again

The Seattle Seahawks had the San Francisco 49ers on the ropes but couldn’t deliver the knockout punch, losing 17-13 on a late touchdown by tight end Jake Tonges, who was only in the game presumably because of George Kittle’s early injury. It’s four straight losses at home for the Seahawks to the 49ers, and six defeats in seven overall dating back to the 2022 season.

Come watch the Live Post-Game Show on The Hawks Eye Podcast tonight at 7:45 PM PT with myself and fellow Field Gulls staff member Michael Thompson.

Winners and Losers from Seahawks 13, 49ers 17

Winners and Losers from Seahawks 13, 49ers 17

The wait is finally over. We have real, regular-season information on the 2025 Seattle Seahawks. Sam Darnold, Klint Kubiak’s offense, the Jalen Milroe package, all of it was unveiled Sunday afternoon.

It sucked.

0-1 is how Seattle starts the season, and there were Winners and Losers (besides the 49ers winning and the Seahawks losing). Let’s get to them!

Winners

Jaxon Smith-Njigba. What a strange conversation this offseason about him and Cooper Kupp, the loss of DK Metcalf, and a “prototypical WR1”. It seems, a very good wide receiver is friggin a very good wide receiver. Going 9-124 (with...

Sunday Night Football open thread: Ravens at Bills

Sunday Night Football open thread: Ravens at Bills

Maybe the Baltimore Ravens would’ve lost to the Buffalo Bills anyway, but that Mark Andrews game-tying dropped two-point conversion has to go down as one of the more devastating playoff losses in NFL history. Now these two teams are set to rematch in the final Buffalo Bills season at their current stadium before moving to a new one in 2026.

Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson are the last two regular season MVPs but the goal for both is to finally reach their first Super Bowl. Will either one of them do it? The Ravens and Bills are, as usual, among...

Seahawks-49ers Final Score: Seahawks 13, 49ers 17

The Seahawks came incredibly close to winning in walk-off fashion against the 49ers on Sunday afternoon, but a late Sam Darnold fumble forced by 49ers edge rusher Nick Bosa quickly put their comeback attempt to rest with 42 seconds left in the game. After quarterback Brock Purdy threw a touchdown with 1:34 on the clock, Darnold and the offense marched right down the field aided by a 40-yard catch-and-run by Jaxon Smith-Njigba. Three plays later, Darnold was stripped and the 49ers knelt out the clock to seal their 17-13 win at home in Santa Clara.

In his first start for...

Seahawks vs. 49ers 2nd half game thread: Seattle up 10-7 after tale of two kickers

Seahawks vs. 49ers 2nd half game thread: Seattle up 10-7 after tale of two kickers

It took the defense of the Seattle Seahawks until the second possession of the San Francisco 49ers to get settled, but the game at Lumen has been a hard-hitting, physical game between division rivals, just as most have expected.

The Niners jumped out to an early lead, scoring a touchdown on their first possession, but the Seahawks countered with a touchdown of their own to even the tally at seven each. The teams then traded field goal attempts, with San Francisco doinking an attempt off the upright, but Jason Myers putting his through the uprights to give Seattle a 10-7...

George Kittle ruled out of 49ers-Seahawks with hamstring injury

George Kittle ruled out of 49ers-Seahawks with hamstring injury

George Kittle is one of the most effective tight ends in the NFL — a fact Seahawks fans know too well. But the Seahawks will be spared the trouble of trying to contain Kittle for the rest of Sunday’s opener. Kittle left the game late in the second quarter with a hamstring injury and has been ruled out for the remainder of the contest.

Prior to injury, Kittle had four catches and 25 yards plus the Niners’ sole touchdown to this point. Kittle’s dominance as a receiver — he’s eclipsed 1,000 receiving yards in a season four time, including each...

Nick Emmanwori Questionable, heads to locker room

The Seattle Seahawks took the field to face off against the division rival San Francisco 49ers in Week 1 action Sunday afternoon, giving fans their first chance to see the members of the 2025 NFL Draft in regular season action.

One of those rookies that fans have spent the summer waiting to see is second round selection Nick Emmanwori. With his unique physical and athletic skillset, how Mike Macdonald would deploy Emmanwori against opposing offenses was a heavily discussed and debated topic.

The type of weapon Emmanwori could present to opposing offenses was on full display on the first offensive...
