The Seattle Seahawks will play the Washington Commanders on Sunday Night Football in their first game out of the bye. In the meantime, the 3-4 Commanders have a daunting road game at the Kansas City Chiefs, who are 4-3 but look way better than their record indicates and their offense is looking the best its looked in a good while.
As if the early season struggles weren’t enough, a second injury to quarterback Jayden Daniels means he’s out for the third time this season. Marcus Mariota is the backup—a capable one at that—and he’ll be tasked with trying to pull...

With the Seattle Seahawks sitting at 5-2 and in first place atop the NFC West coming out of the Week 8 bye, the made an announcement Monday afternoon that is almost certain to excite many fans.
Robbie Ouzts, who played tight end in college at Alabama before becoming a fifth round pick of Seattle in the 2025 NFL Draft has been designated to return to practice. He has not played since suffering a high ankle sprain in the dominating 44-13 victory over the New Orleans Saints in Week 3.
While Ouzts has been out, third year Seahawk Brady Russell has...

The Seattle Seahawks head into the bye week sitting at 5-2 — a record that looks impressive on paper, but one that leaves fans still searching for answers about what this team truly is. On the latest episode of The Hawks Eye Podcast, I was joined by Corbin Smith of Locked on Seahawks and Emerald City Spectrum to break down Seattle’s first-half storylines and what lies ahead.
The episode opens with the big question: “5-2, but how good are the Seahawks really?” (at the 2:58 mark) we dive into what the record does and doesn’t say about this team —...

In the offseason the Seattle Seahawks made wholesale changes at receiver and quarterback, trading DK Metcalf and Geno Smith, and released Tyler Lockett.
Metcalf has performed well so far with Aaron Rodgers throwing him the ball for the Pittsburgh Steelers, while Lockett failed to make much of an impact with the Tennessee Titans, catching just ten passes for 70 yards this season before requesting his release earlier in October.
Meanwhile Smith and former Seahawks coach Pete Carroll have struggled with the Las Vegas Raiders, and according to reports early Monday morning, Lockett is set to join Carroll and Smith in...

There is no Lambeau Field return for Aaron Rodgers this season, but the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback does get to play both his former teams this year. He threw for four touchdowns in a wild shootout win over the win-less New York Jets, what does he have in store against an actual competent team in the Green Bay Packers? This is in Pittsburgh, where the only loss for the Steelers came against the Seattle Seahawks back in Week 2.
Of course, the other storyline is what Micah Parsons could do as an encore after three sacks of Jacoby Brissett in the...

Without even setting foot on the field in Week 8, the Seattle Seahawks have moved into first place in the NFC West.
As the end of October quickly approached, a three-team logjam formed atop the NFC West.
The Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams all entered Week 8 at 5-2, though the Niners held the division lead thanks to their 3-0 record against other NFC West foes. That gave San Francisco the tiebreaker over both Seattle and Los Angeles.
However, the 49ers falling 26-15 to the Houston Texans dropped San Francisco to 5-3 and out of the tie...

Happy Seattle Seahawks bye week, everyone!
It’s the second of three “NFL RedZone all day” weekends for myself, as the Seahawks have a week off in between their two prime-time games. There are six teams with byes, so we only have 10 games between the 10 am PT and 1 pm PT slates, but at least there are no international games to wake up to until next week.
Our only clear rooting interest is the Houston Texans over the San Francisco 49ers, which is 10 am PT on FOX. A 49ers loss guarantees the Seattle Seahawks first place in the...

On Monday the Seattle Seahawks defeated the Houston Texans 27-19 at Lumen Field to keep pace with the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams in the NFC West ahead of having Week 8 off thanks to the bye week.
However, while the Seahawks won’t be on the field during Week 8, they are in the news, as the NFL levied a $14,491 fine on third year wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba following his dunk over the goalpost after hauling in a touchdown pass on the final play of the first quarter.
Corbin Smith of Emerald City Spectrum shared the impact...

Fall is here, and football season is nearing its halfway point at both the college and professional level. Both levels of the sport appear to be having chaotic seasons where parity feels like the best way to describe the collective hunts for playoff spots and championship hopes.
With another big Saturday with big games that have massive postseason implications, it’s a great time to take another look at four more prospects that I am keeping my eye on for the Seahawks in the 2026 NFL draft.
While Jeremiah Smtih gets all the publicity...

Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across the NFL. Each week we ask questions of the most plugged-in NFL fans and fans across the country.
With the NFL season having 17 games now, it is tough to find an exact halfway point in the season. However, with the Seattle Seahawks having played seven games and now on a bye week, this week seems like a good time to consider the halfway point for Seattle. With that, when taking a big picture look at the team, most polled Seahawks fans are happy with the team’s direction.
