Week 5 Film Review: Colts Dominate the Las Vegas Raiders

Week 5 Film Review: Colts Dominate the Las Vegas Raiders

After a heartbreaking loss to the Rams, the Colts got back on track in a big way on Sunday. When you look at the box score you’re almost surprised it was 40-6, but it was as convincing a win as you can have in the National Football League.

The Colts were decisively better in all three phases and it wasn’t close. There’s a lot of very good football being played right now, and if everyone stays healthy, it’s very hard to see how that will change.

The first couple drives for the Colts did not go as smoothly as...

Indianapolis Colts Injury Report: DT Stewart Manages To Practice

The Indianapolis Colts today released their Wednesday injury report for Week 6 of the NFL season ahead of their Sunday game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Defensive tackle Grover Stewart was a full participant at practice today. Stewart injured his bicep in the Colts’ week 5 game against the Raiders, but appears to be relatively unscathed and progressing well. Stewart should be available on Sunday, provided he can continue to practice this week.

Wide receiver Alec Pierce was a full participant at practice today. Pierce has been dealing with a concussion for the last two weeks, which has caused him to...

Week 5 Colts Offensive Rankings and Analysis

Week 5 Colts Offensive Rankings and Analysis

Each week during the season, I will be walking through the data from the previous Colts game and analyzing the numbers to form a sort of “what happened” narrative, as well as comparing the Colts against all other teams in the league. For a glossary of the stats listed, reference Season Stats. Thanks to Pro Football Reference, NFL.com****, Pro Football Focus** and the** nflFastR project for being awesome sources of weekly data.

Going into Week 5, the Raiders’ defense ranked 19th in points allowed per drive. So they weren’t great, but they were far from the bottom of the...

Report: Colts sign veteran LB Germaine Pratt to 1-year deal

Report: Colts sign veteran LB Germaine Pratt to 1-year deal

The Indianapolis Colts are signing veteran linebacker Germaine Pratt to a one-year deal, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The former third-round pick in 2019 spent his first six seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals and Lou Anarumo. Pratt now reunites with Anarumo in Indianapolis, and the expectation is for him to join the Colts’ 53-man roster right away, according to The Athletic’s James Boyd.

Pratt, 29, originally signed with the Las Vegas Raiders back in June. In four games with the Raiders, the veteran linebacker recorded 25 tackles and one tackle-for-loss. Following Las Vegas’ 40-6 loss to Indianapolis, Pratt, who...

Colts place veteran CB on practice squad IR and add latest secondary depth

The Indianapolis Colts announced on Tuesday that the team has placed veteran cornerback Mike Hilton on practice squad injured reserve and signed fellow cornerback Troy Pride Jr. to their taxi-man team.

Hilton, who was signed a few weeks ago to help replace injured slot starter Kenny Moore II (Achilles), suffered a shoulder injury during this past Sunday’s blowout win against the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Colts reportedly hope that he can still return this season, but it depends on how his shoulder responds to treatment. Hilton will miss at least the team’s next four games on practice squad injured reserve...

What is your confidence level in Colts QB Daniel Jones?

What is your confidence level in Colts QB Daniel Jones?

I am not going to lie to you and tell you that I had this idea on my own. I read all the articles and The Feed as well. As I was looking through comments and such, I found two sources that I’d like to expand on, or combine if you will. Over on The Feed, Tommy Stokke has asked us if we would sign a deal right now that would pay Jones 4 years at 166 million, or 41.5 per year. Lucktastic commented on Troy’s analysis, “I think I believe” that he was surprised that no one had put...

Colts’ Week 5 QB Analysis: I think I believe

Thanks to the nflFastR project, Pro Football Focus and NFL NextGen Stats for the timely sources of data.

For those of you new to this, I will publish key QB stats each week judging how well the Colts’ QB performed. Yes, O-Line, receivers, and play-calling impact these numbers but they are primarily QB measures. I will probably modify the charts throughout the season. Commentary will be brief but feel free to let me know in the comments that stats aren’t everything. (click charts for larger view)

HOW WELL?

In week 5, Daniel Jones avoided turnovers and sacks and...

Report: Colts reunite with familiar face for Spencer Shrader’s kicking replacement

Report: Colts reunite with familiar face for Spencer Shrader’s kicking replacement

According to the IndyStar’s Joel A. Erickson, the Indianapolis Colts have reunited with former place kicker Michael Badgley, as injured kicker Spencer Shrader’s replacement for the rest of the 2025 season:

The 30-year-old kicker originally signed with the Colts out of Miami (Fla.) as an undrafted rookie back in 2018, but after an impressive preseason and training camp, was cut as part of final 53-man roster cuts—as Indianapolis still had longtime, legendary veteran starter Adam Vinatieri.

Badgley’s been well-traveled, having also played for the Los Angeles Chargers, Tennessee Titans, Chicago Bears, Detroit Lions, and *Washington Commanders organizations.

He was later...

Colts Early Season report card

Colts Early Season report card

Daniel Jones: A –

Jones is giving the Colts exactly what they needed, and even more, from the quarterback position. He is completing a high percentage of his passes, with a 71.3% completion rate, keeping the ball moving, taking excellent care of the football with just a turnover-worthy play rate of 2.8%, and constantly hitting the open guy. Indiana Jones is enjoying a career resurgence with an excellent supporting cast around him, and away from the blinding New York spotlight. The Colts’ front office should already start figuring out a contract that keeps him here.

Ashton Dulin deserves to be the longterm #4 receiver

Ashton Dulin deserves to be the longterm #4 receiver

Backup players don’t have to be stars — they just have to be reliable. When they’re called into the game, coaches don’t expect fireworks. They expect composure, assignment sound play, and most importantly, no mistakes. That’s the one line they cannot cross.

AD Mitchell has crossed it repeatedly.

His young career has been riddled with miscues, and last week’s two major blunders against the Rams were the most glaring examples yet. The Colts made the correct decision by sitting him this week in favour of Ashton Dulin — and Dulin rewarded that faith immediately.

Against the Raiders, Dulin stepped in...

Losing Spencer Shrader could be a major loss for the Colts

Losing Spencer Shrader could be a major loss for the Colts

The Colts enjoyed stability at the kicking position once upon a time when Adam Vinatieri would trot out to make his attempts. He wasn’t perfect, as no kicker is, but he was comfortable. Not blessed with the biggest leg, there were still no areas on the field that made fans feel uneasy. Over the years, that has changed with unreliability taking center stage as fans found themselves unsure of what to expect out of the place kicker for the Indianapolis Colts. That seemed to be somewhat solved as Spencer Shrader brought reliability and dependability back into the fold. After a...

Colts work out two DBs to potentially improve depleted secondary depth

Colts work out two DBs to potentially improve depleted secondary depth

On Monday, the Indianapolis Colts worked out cornerbacks Lewis Cine and Kendall Fuller to potentially bolster the depth of an increasingly depleted secondary (via KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson):

At cornerback, having already lost rookie Justin Walley for the season and placed Jaylon Jones on injured reserve to begin the 2025 campaign, the Colts have since seen veteran fill-in Xavien Howard abruptly retire, starting slot Kenny Moore II declared out with an Achilles injury the past two weeks, and Mike Hilton suffer a shoulder injury last weekend—whose health status remains unknown publicly going forward.

Originally a 2016 3rd round pick of Washington,...
