Bears head coach Ben Johnson adds another assistant to his offensive coaching staff.
According to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Chicago Bears are hiring former Jacksonville Jaguars offensive coordinator Press Taylor as their passing game coordinator.
The 37-year-old Taylor had been the Jags’ offensive coordinator for the last three seasons with head coach Doug Pederson. Before that, he served as the senior offensive assistant for Frank Reich’s Indianapolis Colts, and from 2013 to 2020, he worked with the Philadelphia Eagles, first for Chip Kelly, and then he remained on staff for Pederson.
His first year in Jacksonville featured a...
Could the Bears land the biggest target in free agancy?
We’re about six weeks away from NFL free agency, but the rumors are already swirling. With the college all-star games, Super Bowl week, and the NFL Combine all on the horizon, there’ll be plenty of off-the-record conversations about players.
In his recent 2025 Top 50 NFL free agent ranking article from Matt Bowen (and an assist from league insider Jeremy Fowler), they mentioned the Chicago Bears with Bowen’s second-ranked player.

On Tuesday, the Chicago Bears officially announced all three coordinators under newly hired head coach Ben Johnson. Although free agency is still over a month away, it’s never too early to start wondering what the offseason ahead could look like under a revamped coaching staff.
The NFL is just under six weeks until the official start of the acquisition period begins. For 30 of the 32 teams around the league, the focus has turned to the offseason ahead. While the draft is taking most of the headlines in late July and early February, soon enough, the “legal negotiation period” will...

By now, we've all checked out Bill Zimmerman's latest Bears Banteer podcast, where Rick Smith, Ben Johnson's agent, pulled the curtain back on the process that led Johnson to the Chicago Bears. We've had a week to digest Johnson's press conference and hear his many radio and television spots. We've also likely heard Caleb Williams' excitement now that he has...

On Tuesday, the Chicago Bears officially announced the three coordinators for Ben Johnson’s 2025 coaching staff: offensive coordinator Declan Doyle, defensive coordinator Dennis Allen, and special teams coordinator Richard Hightower.
Doyle spent the last two years with the Denver Broncos working as the tight ends coach for Sean Payton. He initially entered the NFL coaching ranks when Payton hired him as an offensive assistant for the New Orleans Saints in 2018. At 28 years old, he’s the youngest coordinator in the league.
“A sharp, innovative offensive mind, Declan’s work ethic and attitude will be a tremendous asset as we work...
WCG’s lead draft analyst watched tape on every player at this year’s Senior Bowl.
Their motto is “the draft starts in Mobile”, and it’s pretty clear to see why the Reese’s Senior Bowl is consistently a big deal.
The Senior Bowl is typically a good litmus test for whether a prospect will get drafted or not, as a vast majority of the players they invite get selected, with a good handful of them going off the board in the first three rounds. For those who don’t get picked, it’s usually still an indication that you’ll land with an NFL team...
He wasn’t the first former Chicago Bears head coach to land a job this coaching cycle — Thomas Brown was hired by the New England Patriots as their tight ends coach/pass game coordinator yesterday — but the Dallas Cowboys are hiring Matt Eberflus as their defensive coordinator.
Eberflus was fired by the Bears following his Thanksgiving deer-in-the-headlights finish against the Detroit Lions, and he ended with a 14-32 record over his two-plus years in Chicago. His tenure in the Windy City was full of late-game mishaps, strange challenges, assistant coach turnover, and awkward press conferences. To be fair, he also...

JB and Lester have some thoughts on the Bears coaching search.
Ben Johnson’s new offense may use some concepts similar to those he used with the Detroit Lions the last few years, but as he did with his previous quarterback, Jared Goff, Johnson will build his Chicago Bears playbook around Caleb Williams.
“This offense will be calibrated around him,” Johnson said about Williams at his introductory press conference. “We’re going to build this thing. This is not simply a dropping of a previous playbook down on the table and starting there. Nope, we’re ripping this thing down to the studs,...
One week ago, the news broke that Ben Johnson would be hired as the 19th head coach in Chicago Bears history. The decision was met with shock and excitement, which has only grown since. With last week’s assistant coach tracker over 30 updates, we wanted to start a fresh tracker for the second week of the coaching staff search.
The Bears have yet to announce any assistants officially, but we have what was reported if you scroll down the page. Also, down below the tracker is a breakdown of the league rules in regards to hiring assistant coaches.
A retired U.S. Army officer is ready to make an impact on the Chicago Bears franchise
As attention around Chicago has rightly been focused on the recent hiring of Ben Johnson and his new coaching staff, the growing sentiment seems to be that a new era is being ushered in at Halas Hall. Johnson is certainly expected to be an innovator for the Chicago Bears, much like Team President and CEO Kevin Warren and General Manager Ryan Poles were when they were hired before him. Of course, these are all names that fans should be very familiar with at this...
