Windy City Gridiron
Earlier today, we looked at Quinten Krzysko’s roster from the WCG Dynasty Fantasy Football League. As we said previously, now we are going to look at his “On Tap” counterpart, Ron Luce.
Ron is a first-year member of the league, inheriting a roster with some nice pieces, but it definitely needs a little work to whip it into shape. Let’s take a look at this roster and see what it takes to turn it into a championship contender.
First, here’s the roster:
Let’s start with the quarterback room and let’s start with one big “Yikes.” I actually think Kyler Murray will play like a QB1 this year in Fantasy, but there’s always a chance he gets hurt, and obviously, the Vikings have a bye week. The other two QBs have no reason to be rostered.
Fortunately for Ron, the running back room is certainly in better shape. Gibbs is as good as it gets, and with Monty gone, he could be next level. Henderson is certainly in a position to become a legit RB1 if New England allows him to do so. Trevor Etienne may struggle to get touches, and it will be curious if Black becomes something in the Shanny offense. So while the room doesn’t have depth, it certainly has two legit top-end guys.
What can we say about this wide receiver room? I mean, what can we say? Troy Franklin and Jakobi Meyers are startable guys. I would say they can fall in the WR3 or WR4 range. Tank Dell? Nobody has any idea how effective he’s going to be after that significant knee injury. TeSlaa has an interesting ceiling. There’s just not a lot of high upside and not a lot of depth. It’s not like he doesn’t have players who you can start; they just aren’t going to carry a team to victories.
In the tight end room, obviously LaPorta is a nice guy to have on the roster, and I do think Sadiq is an interesting prospect. Sanders is probably just a guy.
Moving over to the defensive side of the ball, the tackle room has some real potential with Jalen Carter and Mason Graham. The rest of the room provides some solid, mostly veteran depth. It’s a room that should be able to provide pretty consistent points.
The edge room has a lot of name quality, but not a big gun. Can Dallas Turner take that step forward and become elite? Can Nate Herbig? Guys like Josh Sweat and Chase Young score you a solid 8 to 10 points a game, but you’d like a guy who can push up near 15 ppg here if you can find one.
Jordyn Brooks is one of the biggest scorers at the linebacker position over the last few years, and Devin Lloyd is a nice guy to pair with him. The other guys are decent, but there’s not a lot of youth or depth here that I like to see in the linebacker room.
The corner...
