Well, today’s Brian Callahan press conference went about as well as I expected. He addressed the Jarvis Brownlee trade at the beginning and said he was going to leave it at that. He then, of course, was asked questions about the trade and proceeded to talk in circles. The local media in attendance is going in on him pretty hard about it:
Kuharsky is not wrong here. It’s obvious the Tennessee Titans traded Brownlee because of something they didn’t like that he was doing outside of his play on Sundays. Callahan understandably doesn’t want to throw the player under the...
Each week, we post a “confidence poll” about the direction of the organization. It’s really a silly exercise because there is no possible way that anyone could be confident in the direction the Tennessee Titans are headed. What will be interesting to see is the results of this poll if/when Brian Callahan is fired.
There are really two things over the next few weeks that could make that happen in season:
The first is getting run out of the building this week in Houston against the Texans. There is nothing Amy Adams-Strunk hates more than being embarrassed in Houston.
The...
Yesterday was one of the craziest in-season days the Tennessee Titans have had in a long time. It started with Brian Callahan announcing he is handing over play-calling duties to quarterbacks coach Bo Hardegree, and ended with the announcement that they were trading Jarvis Brownlee to the New York Jets for a terrible return. We have yet to hear what exactly Brownlee did to get to the point where the Titans felt like they had to get him out of here, but there was obviously something. I’d love for it to come out so we can evaluate whether or not...
Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan gave up play-calling duties on Tuesday. He announced that quarterbacks coach Bo Hardegree will call plays moving forward, starting with the Houston Texans in Week 4. Callahan had four realistic options on his staff to give play-calling responsibility to, but Hardegree was ultimately the right decision.
The most natural selection may have been offensive coordinator Nick Holz, but that came with complications. They possess a long-running relationship. The process may have been questioned. Furthermore, Holz has never been an NFL play-caller before. He possesses one year of play-calling experience under his belt at the...
Jordan Schultz is reporting that the Tennessee Titans have traded Jarvis Brownlee to the New York Jets for a 2026 “late round swap.”
There are quite a few veteran players whom it would make sense for the Titans to trade before the NFL trade deadline. Brownlee is not a guy who was on that list. He is only in his second year and has played well at times for the Titans. He does have some issues with committing penalties because he uses his hands too much at the top of routes, but he seems like a guy who would be...
Brian Callahan is handing off the play-calling duties to Tennessee Titans quarterbacks coach Bo Hardegree. This is a pretty significant development considering Callahan has been calling the plays since he was hired before the 2024 season. It is interesting that the duties go to Hardgree instead of offensive coordinator Nick Holz. Callahan was asked how Holz took the news that they were skipping over him to go to Hardegree. Callahan said Holz is a professional and took it well.
Callahan said that Hardegree has called plays before on an interim basis. My assumption is that it happened in 2023 when...
The only thing saving the Tennessee Titans from being at the bottom of every single NFL power rankings is the New Orleans Saints. The Titans play the Saints in week 17. What are the odds that both of those teams enter that game winless? I’d say they are pretty good. That game will likely decide who gets the first pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Woo!
The only real thing the Titans currently have going for them over the Saints is Cam Ward. You can say what you want about watching this team, but having to watch Spencer Rattler play...
I don’t have to tell you this, but the wheels fell off this franchise the night that Jon Robinson traded A.J. Brown to the Philadelphia Eagles. The Tennessee Titans moved into the building that is now called Nissan Stadium in 1999. In that time, they have really only had two receivers that could even arguably be called number one receivers, Derrick Mason and A.J. They thought they were getting another one when they signed Calvin Ridley. That has proven to be untrue.
Ridley has had a brutal start to the season. Just how bad has it been?
That...
I’m not going to even bother to ask if you would put your hard-earned money on the Tennessee Titans this week as a 7.5-point at the Houston Texans. That’s the number over at FanDuel Sportsbook. Instead, I will ask you what the number would have to be for you to bet on the Titans.
For me, it would have to be at least +14.5. Eventhough the Texans are also 0-3, they have a much better roster and are better coached. Of course, that is true about just about every team the Titans will play in the 2025 season.
It would...
Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan was asked today if he would consider giving up playcalling. It is not the first time he has been asked that question since he took over as the head coach, but his answer was different today. Every other time he has been asked, he has shut it down pretty quickly. Today, he said that pretty much everything is on the table after the 0-3 start.
Part of the reason Callahan was hired was that he was supposed to be an asset as a playcaller. That hasn’t come to fruition through the first 20 games...
The heat is officially on for Tennessee Titans head coach Brian Callahan. The Titans fell to 0-3 on Sunday after losing in embarrassing fashion to the Indianapolis Colts. The defeat featured another bungled in-game clock management situation where Coach Callahan looked unprepared and indecisive.
Titans CEO Burke Nihill was booed during Mike Keith’s halftime Ring of Honor ceremony. Owner Amy Adams Strunk was in the tunnel as boos rained down on Callahan at halftime. Callahan is now 3-17 in 20 overall games, and his 15% win percentage is the lowest in NFL history (20 game sample size).
The Titans have...
The Tennessee Titans were the worst team in the NFL in 2024. That’s how they ended up with the number one overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Somehow, they have gotten even worse in 2025. How much worse have they gotten?
The Titans have been outgained by 454 yards through three weeks this season after being outgained by just 10 yards through three weeks last season:
That is a product of the offense and the defense both being significantly worse than they were last year. It’s brutal all the way around.
Blake Beddingfield, like the rest...
