The Pittsburgh Steelers hosted inside linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley for a visit on Tuesday, according to Aaron Wilsion of KPRC 2 Houston.
Bentley is a big thumper of a run stopper, who spent seven seasons with the New England Patriots.
Inside linebacker Payton Wilson has been a big liability in the first two games. Perhaps Bentley could provide a boost to the run defense if he ends up signing with the Steelers.
The Steelers play Bentley’s former team on Sunday at Gillette Stadium.
Bentley missed nearly all of the 2024 season after sustaining a pectoral injury in Week 2. Before the...

We also got injury updates on Deshon Elliott, Derrick Harmon and Joey Porter Jr. Will we see more of Jabrill Peppers? Will new WR Isaiah Hodgins...
T.J. Watt received a massive contract extension last season, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in the NFL for a short while. It would be difficult to find anyone who thinks that contract isn’t deserved, given Watt’s importance to the Steelers since they drafted him. Despite that, he’s statistically started slowly this year. Through two games, […]

The Steelers are on the lookout for additional talent following Sunday’s 14-point loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Per KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson, Pittsburgh worked out 11 players on Tuesday: wide receivers Isaiah Hodgins, Michael Strachan, Samori Toure, and Joaquin Davis; tight ends Tre’ McKitty, Stevo Klotz, and Matt Sokol; and linebackers Jacoby Windmon, Titus Leo, Jose Ramirez, and Ja’Whaun Bentley.
Hodgins was reportedly signed to the team’s practice squad following the workout. The rest remain unsigned.
Of those names, Ja’Whaun Bentley stands out the most. The 2018 fifth-round pick has 68 career starts, all with the New England Patriots, including two...

Clete Blakeman will be the referee for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Week 3 matchup with the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium on Sunday. It’s the first time the Steelers will see Blakeman as a referee this year. He last worked the Steelers’ Week 2 matchup on the road against the Denver Broncos in 2024, a […]
Kaleb Johnson was surrounded by much hype at the beginning of training camp. Fast forward to Week 3, and we’re talking about Johnson potentially being inactive against the New England Patriots. That’s a thought Steelers insider Ray Fittipaldo ponders on the North Shore Drive podcast on Tuesday. “I’ll be surprised if he gets a helmet,” […]
Coming into the 2025 season, it appeared that Pittsburgh Steelers’ second-year linebacker Payton Wilson would take a significant leap forward, especially as the full-time starter in the middle of the defense. Through two weeks, though, Wilson has struggled, particularly against the run. Across two games with 112 snaps, Wilson grades out at 36.5 overall from […]
