For any NFL team or even any player, being brought in 48 hours before kickoff isn’t ideal. For new Pittsburgh Steelers long snapper Cal Adomitis, there’s familiarity that helps. Speaking to reporters Friday, hours after being signed and going through his only full practice with the team before Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions, Adomitis […]

The Buffalo Bills are set to sign free agent edge rusher Matthew Judon, one day after he cleared waivers, according to a report by NFL Network. The Pittsburgh Steelers did not submit a claim for Judon, who was released by the Miami Dolphins on Wednesday and passed through waivers on Thursday.
The Steelers have been scrounging for depth at outside linebacker and seemed like an obvious fit. T.J. Watt will miss his second straight game after suffering a partially collapsed lung last week, while his replacement, Nick Herbig, is doubtful after injuring his hamstring against the Dolphins on Monday night....
PITTSBURGH — Three Pittsburgh Steelers have been ruled out of the team’s Week 16 game agains the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
Cornerback James Pierre, left guard Isaac Seumalo, outside linebacker T.J. Watt have all been ruled out, the team announced on Friday.
Pierre suffered a calf injury against the Baltimore Ravens in Week 14, and while he was able to return to that game, he has now missed six consecutive practices and will miss his second straight game. Asante Samuel Jr. is expected to once again start at outside cornerback alongside Joey Porter Jr.
Seumalo injured his triceps during the...
The Pittsburgh Steelers will be without edge rusher T.J. Watt on Sunday when they take on the Detroit Lions. Watt is still recovering from a surgery to repair a partially collapsed lung. He missed Week 15 against the Miami Dolphins, as well.
Pittsburgh will also be without guard Isaac Seumalo and cornerback James Pierre. Long snapper Christian Kuntz and edge rusher Nick Herbig have been listed as questionable. The full injury report is as follows:
Behind the Steel Curtain
As the snow outside continues to fall ahead of Christmas next week, the Pittsburgh Steelers get set to head to the Motor City and play indoors at Ford Field in a tough matchup against the Detroit Lions, who are backed into a corner staring down their playoff mortality. On paper, it looks like a clear […]

Los Angeles Rams right guard Kevin Dotson suffered an ankle injury in Thursday night’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Dotson was carted off and didn’t return. He was seen on crutches and in a walking boot, which is not promising
The injury occurred in the first quarter after Seahawks linebacker Derrick Hall unnecessarily stepped on Dotson. The NFL has suspended Hall one game for “an act of unnecessary roughness and unsportsmanlike conduct.”
Hall, who was not called for an unnecessary roughness penalty during the game, is appealing his one-game suspension.
Here is the play that resulted in a one-game...
The Detroit Lions have released their final injury report of the week before their Sunday home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. As always, the final report includes game status designations. Questionable denotes a 50-50 chances of playing, while doubtful means more likely than not to be out. Players can also be ruled out altogether. Any […]

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker Nick Herbig said he’s “optimistic” about his chances of playing in the team’s Week 16 game against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, despite not practicing much this week.
Herbig did not practice on either Wednesday or Thursday. He was at practice doing at least some work on Friday.
Herbig said he’s “optimistic, but we’ll see” when asked about his status this week. He could be trending toward a final decision coming either after the team’s walkthrough on Saturday or a game-time decision at Ford Field on Sunday.
With starting left outside linebacker T.J. Watt...
If there’s one spot where the Pittsburgh Steelers could really stand to get healthier, it’s along the defensive line. The Steelers will likely get Derrick Harmon back this week, but it will be missing T.J. Watt again and maybe Nick Herbig as well. The Steelers may have to roll with Jack Sawyer Sunday and a […]

If you’re like me, you just got home from your final round of Christmas shopping – shoutout to the South Hills Village Mall. Best mall in Pittsburgh, for my money.
The Pittsburgh Steelers will play their final game before Christmas on Sunday against the Detroit Lions. The Steelers haven’t lost to the Lions in Detroit since Thanksgiving in 1998, and they are 5-0-1 against the Lions in their last six meetings.
Before the game, submit your questions for the Week 16 mailbag in the comments of this post, and return tomorrow to have your questions answered.

Behind the Steel Curtain
PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin did not have a substantial update on the status of star outside linebacker T.J. Watt on Friday, saying he prefers to let Watt speak for himself.
Watt was at the team’s facility for practice on Friday, the second straight day he was at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex. But it seems unlikely that Watt will be able to play this Sunday when the Steelers visit the Detroit Lions.
Watt suffered a partially collapsed lung last Wednesday after undergoing a dry needling procedure at the team’s facility on an off day, his brother, CBS...
