A familiar voice will be helping call the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Week 3 game against the New England Patriots on Sunday. T.J. Watt’s older brother, J.J. Watt, will be in the CBS broadcast booth alongside play-by-play man Ian Eagle, while Evan Washburn reports from the sideline.

The trio also called the Steelers’ first game of the 2025 season, an exciting 34-32 win over the New York Jets in Week 1.

The elder Watt joined CBS’ No. 2 announcing team this summer, replacing longtime Madden announcing voice Charles Davis, who is now broadcasting games with Andrew Catalon, Jason McCourty and AJ Ross....

The Pittsburgh Steelers brought former tight end Matt Sokol to UPMC Rooney Sports Complex for a tryout on Tuesday, according to the NFL transactions page.

Sokol, 29, was on and off the Steelers’ practice squad in 2024, and was not re-signed this offseason.

He signed with the Buffalo Bills on July 22 and spent the preseason in Buffalo. He played in 32 snaps over three preseason games with the Bills and finished with one catch for two yards. He was released by Buffalo on Aug. 24, cleared waivers, and has been a free agent since.

The New England Patriots will wear their throwback uniforms for their Week 3 home game against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Sunday.

The Patriots will be wearing their classic red home uniforms with their white helmets that feature the Pat Patriot logo of a uniformed colonial solider snapping a football.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have released wide receiver Rakim Jarrett from the practice squad after just one week with the team, according to the NFL transactions report for Tuesday.

The Steelers signed Jarrett on Sept. 8 after an earlier tryout, and he spent one week with the team. Jarrett was not elevated for the team’s Week 2 loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Galbreath, 24, signed with the Steelers this April as an undrafted free agent out of South Dakota. He was waived by the team in the final roster cuts this August, but cleared waivers and was re-signed to the practice squad. He was not elevated for either of the first two games.

A 6-foot-3 3/8, 231-pound tight end, Galbreath showed flashes of that athleticism at the NFL level, but did not turn that into production during a long preseason tryout.

Following Week 2’s loss to the Seattle Seahawks, the Steelers have made some adjustments to their practice squad.

Per ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Pittsburgh is signing linebacker Ja’Whaun Bentley to the team’s practice squad.

Bentley is the team’s second practice squad signing of the day; the Steelers reportedly added wide receiver Isaiah Hodgins earlier.
