Packers work out TE on Monday

Packers work out TE on Monday

The Green Bay Packers typically only have players in for workouts on Tuesdays, the day that players usually have off during the week. So it’s out of the norm that the Packers brought in three players on Monday, coming off their loss to the Carolina Panthers. It’s possible that this could be due to the NFL’s trade deadline, which is set for 3 pm CT on Tuesday.

The three players brought in to Green Bay today, according to the NFL’s transaction report, were tight end McCallan Castles, cornerback Shemar Bartholomew and cornerback Jalen Kimber.

How is the Packers’ CB battle looking?

How is the Packers’ CB battle looking?

It’s pretty clear at this point that the Green Bay Packers will let their outside cornerback battle continue until a clear victor has been named. After the Pittsburgh Steelers game, head coach Matt LaFleur said that the team will consider all options, including moving Keisean Nixon out of a full-time role. While we haven’t seen that yet this season, the team is letting Carrington Valentine and Nate Hobbs duke it out across the formation from Nixon.

So how is every doing? Let’s take a look at NFL Pro’s numbers.

In the 2025 regular season, 62 cornerbacks have played at least...

Without Tucker Kraft, the Packers’ passing game must change

Without Tucker Kraft, the Packers’ passing game must change

Over the past couple of weeks, teams have really limited the Green Bay Packers’ ability to push the ball downfield. After games, Packers head coach Matt LaFleur repeatedly has stated that deep zone coverage schemes are the reason why quarterback Jordan Love consistently takes checkdowns on multi-level passing concepts and why the team calls so many quick-game passes. That’s why Love has a great 70.8 percent completion percentage right now, including a high of 78.4 percent against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

But here’s the problem: To make these shorter passes work, you have to get yards after the catch to avoid...

Brandon McManus is still dealing with an injury issue

Brandon McManus is still dealing with an injury issue

After the last two games, Green Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur has tried to downplay the quad injury that kicker Brandon McManus has dealt with this season. McManus missed two games with the quad issue, but returned to the field against the Pittsburgh Steelers two weekends ago. Since returning to the field, he’s missed three field goals after going 20 of 21 last season for the Packers, which earned him his new three-year contract with Green Bay this offseason.

On Monday, though, LaFleur admitted that McManus, who is still being listed as just a limited participant in practice, is...

Packers release Kristian Welch

Packers release Kristian Welch

The Green Bay Packers announced on Monday that the team has released linebacker Kristian Welch, which is a surprise. Already, the Packers are going to gain an extra roster spot on the 53-man roster because tight end Tucker Kraft will eventually go on the injured reserve with a torn ACL. Beyond that, Welch was released instead of offensive lineman Jacob Monk, offensive lineman Donovan Jennings, defensive tackle Warren Brinson and kicker Lucas Havrisik, who were all healthy scratches in the loss to the Carolina Panthers.

With Nick Niemann on the injured reserve and Welch released, the Packers only have four...

Matt LaFleur’s 4th down strategy is no numbers, just vibes

Matt LaFleur’s 4th down strategy is no numbers, just vibes

4th down decision making is, in general, a proxy for a football coach’s overall aggressiveness. In today’s NFL, it is the one area where a head coach ultimately has the sole responsibility for a major decision, and there is more data than ever available for coaches to put to use in order to evaluate a given situation and make an informed choice.

Unfortunately, it appears that lately Matt LaFleur isn’t looking at the numbers at all.

The Green Bay Packers’ head coach has had ups and downs in terms of his aggressiveness on 4th down over his tenure with the...

The Green Bay Packers’ run defense is getting exposed

The Green Bay Packers’ run defense is getting exposed

When the Green Bay Packers made the blockbuster trade for Micah Parsons, Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones cited the acquisition of Kenny Clark as an important one for his defense to be able to stop the run. Although the Packers don’t regret trading for a Hall of Fame-caliber pass rusher, there’s a sliver of truth to Jones’ comments, because right now Green Bay’s run defense is getting exposed.

In an ugly, disappointing, very bad loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday, the Packers allowed 163 rushing yards and two touchdowns to their opponent, as Rico Dowdle and company averaged an...

Tucker Kraft Injury Update: Torn ACL confirmed for Packers tight end

Tucker Kraft Injury Update: Torn ACL confirmed for Packers tight end

8 games, 32 receptions, 489 yards, and six touchdowns.

That will be the final statistics on Tucker Kraft’s 2025 season. On Sunday, the Green Bay Packers’ budding star tight end suffered a knee injury that knocked him out of the team’s game against the Carolina Panthers, and the extent of that injury was confirmed on Monday morning with an MRI.

According to a report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the injury is indeed a torn ACL and Kraft will be out for the season.

Heading into Sunday’s game, Kraft was leading the Packers in receptions (30), receiving yards (469),...

How will the Packers replace Tucker Kraft?

How will the Packers replace Tucker Kraft?

Right now, we’re awaiting confirmation of what feels inevitable: Tucker Kraft has a torn ACL and will miss the rest of the season. Ian Rapoport tweeted yesterday that the Packers fear that is the case, and I don’t think we have any reason to assume otherwise.

That means the Packers are going to have to find some way of replacing Tucker Kraft. But let’s put the conclusion up front: they’re not going to be able to do that. Kraft is among the best tight ends in the NFL, and the Packers don’t have another one of those waiting in the...

Packers News: Tucker Kraft’s injury throws wrench into Green Bay’s offense

Packers News: Tucker Kraft’s injury throws wrench into Green Bay’s offense

When the Green Bay Packers get into their facilities at Lambeau Field this morning, they will have a new, unwelcome challenge facing them. The coaching staff, particularly on offense, will have to figure out how to assemble a productive offense without one of their most important players.

Tucker Kraft has become a do-it-all player for this team over the past season and a half, and in recent weeks he has been the Packers’ most dynamic receiving threat. Now, with what appears to be a torn right ACL likely sidelining Kraft for the 2025 season, Matt LaFleur must figure out how...

Packers Week 9 Winners and Losers vs. the Panthers

Packers Week 9 Winners and Losers vs. the Panthers

Happy birthday, Jordan Love; sorry your party’s so lame. The Green Bay Packers debuted their new throwback uniforms this Sunday against the Carolina Panthers and their depleted offensive line and…lost, by a score of 16-13. You’d think the Packers’ defensive front would feast in a game like this, correct? WRONG! For the first time in Micah Parsons’ 5-year NFL career, he was held to zero (0) pressures. I’d say buckle up, but this is going to be a short one, so…just sit down. Here are this week’s losers.

Packers Snap Counts: Week 9 vs. Panthers

Packers Snap Counts: Week 9 vs. Panthers

The Green Bay Packers lost to the Carolina Panthers. It sucked. I don’t want to think about the game too deeply right now. Instead of breaking down the game, let’s just take you through the Packers’ Week 9 snap counts. We can start this week’s autopsy with who was on the field on offense and defense.

Quarterbacks

  • 62 snaps: Jordan Love
  • 0: Malik Willis

Running Backs

  • 36: Josh Jacobs
  • 21: Emanuel Wilson
  • 11: Chris Brooks (8 SPT)
