According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, who was a limited participant in practice throughout this week, is expected to miss Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers and return to the starting lineup after the Cardinals’ bye week. Murray has been dealing with a Lisfranc issue in his foot, which also kept him off the field in last week’s loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
The Cardinals, off four straight losses by nine combined points, desperately need a win to avoid having just two victories going into their Week 9 Monday Night Football matchup against the Dallas...

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs played through an illness last weekend, stating that he threw up before and during the team’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals. Throughout the week, he was on the Packers’ injury report with an illness designation, but added a calf designation on Friday. This didn’t appear to be a major issue, as Jacobs was a full participant for Friday’s practice after just being limited on Wednesday and Thursday, but new information has Jacobs’ status going into Week 7 on shaky ground.
First of all, the Packers [called up practice squad running back Pierre Strong...

According to ESPN’s Rob Demovsky, the Green Bay Packers’ flight to Phoenix was delayed for nearly six hours on Saturday, which is not exactly what you want to hear when running back Josh Jacobs and cornerback Keisean Nixon are listed as questionable for the game with illnesses. Hopefully, whatever issue those two have won’t spread around the locker room before kickoff against the Arizona Cardinals.
As Demovsky tells it, this was the situation.

The Green Bay Packers’ offense hit a couple of explosive pass plays that gained 20+ yards in Week 6 on two different four verticals concepts: one to running back Josh Jacobs for 28 yards and the other to tight end Tucker Kraft for 24 yards.
Four verticals is an air raid offense staple where the receivers all run downfield on vertical routes. There are nuances to the play where the receiver can stop his deep route at 10 yards and turn to look for a pass. Doing this is dependent on what the defense is doing. If the receiver cannot...

Green Bay Packers cornerback Keisean Nixon was given an illness status on the team’s injury report adjustment on Saturday. He’s now listed as questionable for the game, as is cornerback Nate Hobbs (knee), who apparently got injured during Friday’s practice.
If, for some reason, Nixon and Hobb can’t play against the Arizona Cardinals this week, the next men up for the team will be Carrington Valentine and Bo Melton, the latter of whom hasn’t yet played a defensive snap for the Packers in a regular-season game after transitioning from receiver. The only other cornerback on the 53-man roster will be...

Saturday’s action hasn’t even kicked off yet, and there’s already a major upset in college football. On Friday, Louisville went to Miami and defeated the number-two-ranked Hurricanes 24-21. Miami quarterback Carson Beck, a Georgia transfer who is already receiving NFL-type money at the college level, threw four interceptions in his team’s loss.
This should be a pretty good slate for college football, as there are five different top-25 matchups this week. Let’s dive into them, including top draft prospects who will play in those games. As always, the rankings come from the consensus draft board.

The Green Bay Packers have officially ruled receiver Christian Watson (knee), defensive end Lukas Van Ness (foot) and defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt (knee) out for Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals. This shouldn’t be much of a surprise, considering that neither Wyatt nor Van Ness practiced at this this week, and Watson was only ever a limited participant.
Without both Wyatt and Van Ness, the Packers’ defensive line will be thin, as they only have four healthy defensive tackles on the roster and also just four healthy defensive ends. Earlier this week, [head coach Matt LaFleur questioned the conditioning of...

The Green Bay Packers’ defense struggled in the second half of the Week 6 game versus the Cincinnati Bengals, surrendering three scoring drives and 18 points, closing the gap to 24-18 before a field goal drive by the offense. In recent games against Dallas and now Cincinnati, the defense has given up scores on seven of nine offensive drives by the opposing team.
Is there a chink in the armor, or are we seeing a natural side effect of opposing offenses adjusting to limiting Micah Parsons’s impact?
Perhaps. The evidence is limited at best, but against the Bengals, newly acquired...

On Thursday Night Football, the Cincinnati Bengals pulled a bit of an upset over the Pittsburgh Steelers. Joe Flacco won the duel of old quarterbacks, leading the Bengals to a 33-31 win over Aaron Rodgers and the Steelers despite Pittsburgh being favored on the road by 5.5 points.
Here at APC, a few of us made our week 7 picks before Thursday’s game, correctly picking the Bengals to cover that spread but failing to go with them for the outright win.
Of course, that was just the first of many games on the NFL schedule this week. The Green Bay...

Our Paul Noonan recently wrote a good and, I think, important piece about Jordan Love. You should go read it yourself, obviously, but in short, the takeaway is this: Love is an efficient, effective quarterback whose volume stats take a hit because of the way the Packers run their offense.
This section, in particular, jumped out to me:
The Packers moved slowly under Rodgers in terms of pace of play, but they are glacial under Love, and while Rodgers was happy to check out of a run to a pass, Love is happy, for better or worse, to stick...

As soon as it was announced QB Aaron Rodgers was signing with the Pittsburgh Steelers this year, fans of both the Steelers and and the Green Bay Packers marked their calendars. The teams are set to face off on Sunday Night Football on October 26th, in what will be Aaron Rodgers’ first meeting with his former team since being traded in 2023.
As we head into Week 7 of the 2025 season, both teams look…pretty good so far! Both the Packers and Steelers currently sit at the top of their respective divisions, with the Packers at 3-1-1 and the Steelers...

The Green Bay Packers’ pass rush unit has been one of the most productive in the NFL so far this season in pressuring quarterbacks. Through five games, new arrival Micah Parsons leads the NFL in pressures per game (according to at least one source), and Rashan Gary is operating at nearly a sack-per-game pace.
But while Gary’s sack production has tipped upward, the team has not recorded as many sacks as one would expect with their pressure rate. Some of that is due to facing quarterbacks who get the ball out quickly — including Joe Flacco twice in three games...
