According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, who was a limited participant in practice throughout this week, is expected to miss Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers and return to the starting lineup after the Cardinals’ bye week. Murray has been dealing with a Lisfranc issue in his foot, which also kept him off the field in last week’s loss to the Indianapolis Colts.

The Cardinals, off four straight losses by nine combined points, desperately need a win to avoid having just two victories going into their Week 9 Monday Night Football matchup against the Dallas Cowboys, but that will appear to have to fall on the back of backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett now. In his career, Brissett has a 19-35 record as a starter. This year, he’s completed 27 of 45 passes for 320 yards, two touchdowns and one interception. His passer rating of 87.3 ranks above only these qualifying quarterbacks: Michael Penix, Bryce Young, Trevor Lawrence, Dillon Gabriel, Russell Wilson, Geno Smith, Joe Flacco, Jake Browning and Cam Ward.

So while the Packers received some bad news with the injuries/illnesses of running back Josh Jacobs and cornerback Keisean Nixon on Saturday, it’s not exactly like the Cardinals will be playing with a loaded deck, either.
