Did you REALLY think New York Giants rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart was going to get through his first season in the NFL without a game like the one he had Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings? A game where he, you know, actually looked and played like a rookie quarterback?
Overmatched on Sunday against a talented defense and a fantastic coordinator with something to prove against a team he is suing, Dart had his worst game as a pro. He completed just 7 of 13 passes for 33 yards and an interception, and was probably lucky not to have a couple...

At this point in the 2025 NFL season, there really isn’t much left to learn about this New York Giants team. They’re bad. As a former scientist, I do appreciate that ownership has tried to apply the scientific method to understand why.
Two hypotheses were offered by fans and the Giants beat writers in mid-season. The Giants are bad because (a) the coaches are bad, or (b) the players (and hence the general manager) are bad. They couldn’t realistically fire the entire coaching staff in mid-season, but they did fire the two most frequent targets of fans’ and writers’ wrath,...

Another week, another loss, and the New York Giants still hold the first overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
The Giants lost in embarrassing fashion to the Minnesota Vikings, and in doing so both preserved their possession of the first pick in the draft and put their offensive needs on full display. At the same time, the Tennessee Titans upset the Kansas City Chiefs, giving the Giants a bit of breathing room in the Top 10. Of course, the Giants’ loss and Titans’ win also sets up next week’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders to (potentially) be for...

The New York Giants’ offense struggled to do anything against a ferocious Brian Flores defense. New York had 141 total yards with just 33 passing yards. Disaster befell the Giants’ passing attack, as Jaxson Dart looked confused and battered against a defense that sent several unblocked free rushers into the pocket. Dart’s neophyte nature, combined with butter-fingered receivers and a hurt offensive line, led to an inept offensive performance.
The Giants’ defense scored a touchdown and forced multiple turnovers — another pick-six (Jevon Holland)that was negated by an Abdul Carter offside penalty. The defense was solid against a struggling offense,...

The New York Giants lost again on Sunday. of course. That is nine straight and the Giants are 2-13. Let’s review in our unique ‘Kudos & Wet Willies’ style.
Brian Burns — Burns continued the best season of his career with two sacks on Sunday. One of those was a first-half strip/sack of J.J. McCarthy that led to the Giants’ only touchdown, a scoop and score by Tyler Nubin.
Tyler Nubin — The second-year safety was the Giants’ best offensive player on Sunday, with his 27-yard scoop and score of the Burns strip/sack. He also had...

The New York Giants fell to 2-13 on Sunday with a 16-13 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. It was New York’s ninth straight loss and kept the Giants in control of the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
A Will Reichard 30-yard field goal with 4:15 to play gave Minnesota their winning points. Two penalties on Dexter Lawrence, a defensive holding and a neutral zone infraction, contributed to a 14-play, 57-yard scoring drive. A beautiful toe-dragging 22-yard catch by Justin Jefferson on a third-and-17 was the key play.
The Giants faced fourth-and-3 at their own 47-yard line...

The 2-12 New York Giants try to snap an eight-game losing streak and avoid the possibility of the franchise’s first two-win season since 1974, when NFL teams played just 14 games, on Sunday. The 6-8 Minnesota Vikings will be the opponent at MetLife Stadium, with kickoff at 1 p.m. ET.
The Giants will be 2.5-point underdogs, per FanDuel Sportsbook.
The Giants currently own the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and are 0-4 under interim head coach Mike Kafka.
Fans long ago turned their attention to the draft, and to who will be the next permanent coach...

Starting left guard Jon Runyan is a surprise inactive for the New York Giants on Sunday as they will face the Minnesota Vikings in NFL Week 16.
Runyan, who has started all 14 games for the Giants this season, was not on the injury report for New York this week.
Runyan and his wife are expecting a child any time now, which is why Runyan will not play.
The Giants have veteran Aaron Stinnie as a backup guard. Backup center Austin Schlottmann also has guard experience. The other possibility to replace Runyan is rookie fifth-round pick Marcus Mbow. Mbow played...

The more we discuss potential head-coaching candidates for the New York Giants, the more it becomes clear that among currently available coaches there is no perfect, slam-dunk choice. The few guys who might be are all coaching other NFL teams right now.
With that in mind, I wanted to look at the categories I believe are most important for the next head coach. I have identified four. Within each are probably sub-categories I am not going to dive deeply into.
Below are my categories, the reasons I believe them to be important, and the coaches who I feel at least...

Welcome to the New York Giants betting angle, Week 16 edition. Each week, I’m giving you my three favorite wagers for that week’s New York Giants game. My one rule: I won’t ever give you wagers that are less than -120. No gimmies here.
The Giants had high hopes for a win at home last week, but ran their losing streak to eight games when they fell 29-21 to a Commanders team that came in riding their own eight-game losing streak. Big Blue stays at home this Sunday to face another losing team with nothing to play for – the...
