The New York Giants 2025 season has almost come to a close.
We’re giving the folks who collect responses and create our graphics a break for the Christmas holiday this week, we only have one question for you. That question is, of course: How confident are you that the Giants are heading in the right direction?
We don’t yet know who will be leading the Giants in 2026, though we’ve heard that they have an early shortlist of candidates.
That list includes:

New York Giants defensive line coach Andre Patterson revealed to ESPN that he coached this season while undergoing treatment for prostate cancer.
Patterson, 65, began his coaching career as a graduate assistant at the University of Montana in 1982. He shared a simple message:
“Make sure you get checked.”
According to ESPN, Patterson’s prostate cancer was diagnosed early in the 2025 calendar year, and several players learned of it in the spring. He told ESPN his health outlook was positive.
Patterson, who has had a distinguished career coaching many great defensive linemen, came to the Giants in 2022.

The No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft has been a quarterback in nine of the past 11 years. As of this writing, the New York Giants are still in position to have the No. 1 pick in 2026. Do they need a quarterback, though?
A surprising number of people on X think the Giants should stay put if they get the No. 1 pick, trade Jaxson Dart, and draft Heisman Trophy winner Fernando Mendoza rather than trading down. You can make the case considering that after winning two of his first three starts Dart hasn’t won another, that the...

Brian Burns is the only member of the New York Giants selected for the 2026 Pro Bowl games. This is the seven-year veteran’s third Pro Bowl selection, the first two coming in 2021 and 2022 with the Carolina Panthers.
Player selections for the Pro Bowl Games were determined by the consensus votes of fans, players and coaches, with each group’s vote counting as one-third toward determining the all-star players selected to this year’s Pro Bowl Games.
Burns has already establish a career high with 15.0 quarterback sacks. His previous high was 12.5 with the Panthers in 2022. Burns also has...

In the New York Giants’ search for a new head coach, John Harbaugh of the Baltimore Ravens might be the Holy Grail. Is there really a chance that could happen?
Harbaugh, head coach of the Baltimore Ravens for the past 18 years, is in danger of suffering only his third losing season in that time with the Ravens at 7-8 with two games to play.
On Monday, the 63-year-old was asked by a Baltimore media member about his job security. Here is how Harbaugh responded, via the Ravens’ team website:
“It’s a great question. This is sports, that’s how...

The New York Giants lost their ninth consecutive game on Sunday this one 16-13 against a hobbled Minnesota Vikings squad. Brian Flores, a coach the Giants are familiar with, harassed and dominated Mike Kafka and Jaxson Dart all game. Before the game, Dart described Flores’ defense as “chaotic,“ which is precisely how the Giants’ offense operated.
Dart was uncomfortable, the Giants struggled to catch, the protection was poor, and, unfortunately, injured. New York forced two turnovers — Abdul Carter’s offside penalty negated a third. However, the defense still suffered from similar issues: missed tackles and an inability to stop opponents...

Good morning, New York Giants fans!

The New York Giants have released veteran punter Cameron Johnston from their practice squad, per the league’s transactions wire.
Johnston, in his eighth NFL season, filled in for New York when regular punter Jame Gillan missed the team’s Week 15 game against the Washington Commanders with a knee injury. Johnston punted four times in that game for an average of 45.5 yards per punt, but one of his punts was returned by Jaylin Lane of the Commanders for a 63-yard touchdown.
Gillan returned to the lineup Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. He punted twice for an average of 45.5 yards...

Welcome to the Fantasy Football Waiver Wire for Week 17, and an early Merry Christmas to all. If you’re reading this, you’re probably in a Championship game this coming weekend. Congrats on getting to the precipice, but your work isn’t done. With so many injuries the last two weeks, hitting the waiver wire — either to plug a hole or to block your opponent from doing so — could be the difference between spiking the football and eight months of “what if”. So, let’s open some presents.
This is my final waivers column of the 2025 season. Thanks for taking...

In the wake of Jaxson Dart’s worst statistical game as an NFL quarterback on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings, the narrative being pushed is that the rookie quarterback is regressing rather than getting better.
Interim head coach Mike Kafka isn’t having it.
“I don’t see it that way,” Kafka said Monday afternoon in response to a question from Big Blue View. “I mean, I think every game is going to be different. How we play each game is going to be different.”
Dart completed just 7 of 13 passes for 33 yards on Sunday, season lows in all three categories....

Brian Burns has been bright spot in an otherwise dismal year for the New York Giants.
The Giants’ pass rusher has had, by far, the best year of his career in 2025. Burns has been among the league leaders in sacks this year, excellent play has had him in the conversation for Defensive Player Of The Year.
It’s little wonder then that Burns not only led the Giants in Pro Bowl fan voting, but was second among all outside linebackers. Burns trails only Denver Broncos’ pass rusher Nik Bonitto in total votes among outside linebackers.
Burns’ 15.0 sacks is second...

Whoever the head coach and general manager of the New York Giants are next season, they won’t be able to replace all 53 players. That’s about the only reason I can think of to look at Pro Football Focus grades and snap counts for a game as dispiriting as the New York Giants’ 16-13 loss to the Minnesota Vikings. To be honest, the defense had one of its better games of the season. The same can’t be said for the offense, at least for the passing game. Let’s take a look.
First let’s look at...
