The New York Giants finally placed outside linebacker Kayvon Thibodeaux on season-ending Injured Reserve on Saturday. Thibodeaux has been out since Week 10, missing the last four games with a shoulder injury.
Thibodeaux will finish his fourth NFL season with 2.5 sacks in 10 games.
To take Thibodeaux’s place on the 53-man roster, the Giants activated cornerback Art Green from IR. Green played in eight games for the Giants before being placed on IR with a hamstring injury.
The Giants also elevated two players from the practice squad. Placekicker Ben Sauls, a rookie from Pittsburgh, will make his NFL debut...

Good morning New York Giants fans! Happy Saturday and welcome back to Bowl Season.
The first round of the College Football Playoffs got started last night with the matchup between (8) Oklahoma and (9) Alabama, and today we have three more playoff games.
Saturday starts off with (7) Texas A&M vs. (10) Miami, followed by (6) Ole Miss vs. (11) Tulane, and the day is capped by (5) Oregon vs. (12) James Madison. Today’s games should feature a number of draft prospects, as well as a pair of teams we haven’t really focused on in Tulane and JMU. So without...

There seems to be a sentiment among New York Giants fans that the team shouldn’t entertain the idea of hiring someone who’s never done the job before to be the team’s next head coach. And after Ben McAdoo, Joe Judge, and Brian Daboll, there’s certainly merit to that opinion.
But when pressed and presented with the top “inexperienced” candidates, Giants fans have a clear and overwhelming favorite: Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Chris Shula.
Shula is a young coach at 39, but he’s beeen coaching in some capacity since his first job as a linebackers coach at Ball State in...

Kölnerbigblue asks: Ed, if the Giants move on from Joe Schoen, is there any benefit to doing it later rather than sooner? Would we be permitted to talk to Assistant GMs during the season?
Ed says: Kolner, not really. As with coaches, the Giants could not talk to anyone who currently has a job with another team. When they fired Jerry Reese near the end of the 2017 season, the only candidates they spoke with were Dave Gettleman and Louis Riddick. Neither was working for an NFL team at the time.
*Bob Donnelly asks: In your Kudos & Wet...

Good evening New York Giants fans! Bowl Season is well and truly under way, and we have the first game of the College Football Playoffs under the Friday Night lights.
TV: ABC
Time: 8 p.m.
This should be an exciting game and will also be a “must watch” game from a scouting perspective.
While Alabama lost to Georgia in an embarrassing fashion in the SEC Championship, they still have a ton of future NFL players on their roster. Oklahoma, meanwhile, features talented players of their own as well...

Confidence isn’t always built on Sundays.
For New York Giants wide receiver Jalin Hyatt, the snaps have been limited and the spotlight unforgiving, with communication miscues and timing issues surfacing when opportunities do come. Still, offensive coordinator Tim Kelly made it clear Thursday that the organization’s belief in the young receiver hasn’t wavered.
Kelly acknowledged the challenges Hyatt faces in a depth role.
“That fourth, fifth receiver role is tough in this league,” Kelly said. “You’ve got to know everything. You have to be able to step in and execute whatever position we need you in at that point in...

New York Giants punter Jamie Gillan, who missed last Sunday’s game against the Washington Commanders with a left (kicking) knee injury, is set to return Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings. Gillan has no injury designation on Friday’s final injury report.
Veteran Cameron Johnston signed to the practice squad and punted in Gillan’s place last week. He also held for placekicks in Gillan’s absence.
The Giants likely hope Gillan’s return will not only help their struggling punt coverage team, but be a benefit to rookie placekicker Ben Sauls. Sauls will be making his NFL debut after the Giants cut Younghoe Koo...

I honestly can’t believe I’m writing this, but no, the New York Giants shouldn’t trade Jaxson Dart and draft Fernando Mendoza if they get the first pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.
Right, let me back up a bit.
The Giants currently hold the first overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, and this very well could be a “one quarterback” draft. As things stand now, Indiana quarterback, and Heisman Trophy winner, Fernando Mendoza is the only quarterback who is likely to enter the draft who will carry a first round pick. And because of the number of In all...

The New York Giants face the Minnesota Vikings this weekend. This is an interesting game for the Giants, if a meaningless one in the standings. We turned to Christopher Gates of SB Nation’s Daily Norseman to learn aboutt his Vikings in this week’s ‘5 questions’ segment.
Chris: I think that, in the long run, the Vikings will have made the...

Notre Dame coach Marcus Freeman is at the top of most lists of potential candidates to become the next head coach of the New York Giants. A college football analyst, though, says that pairing is not a good idea for either side.
“Neither are a good fit for one another,” Joe DeLeone, co-host of the ‘Ruffino and Joe Show’ and a college football and NFL Draft analyst for A to Z Sports, told Big Blue View. “I think that in a vacuum it looks great. He’s an up and coming coach. He’s done tremendous things to turn Notre Dame into...

The 2-12 New York Giants host the 6-8 Minnesota Vikings, who are on a two-game winning streak this Sunday. Kevin O’Connell’s team defeated the Cowboys 34-26 in primetime last week and shut out the Commanders 31-0 in Week 14; the win over Washington ended a four-game losing streak. Despite the recent hot streak, the Vikings are eliminated from playoff contention. The Vikings are 2.5-point favorites.
Brian Flores is revered for his aggressive and unpredictable defense. The Vikings are 13th in points allowed per game (21.9); they’re ninth in yards allowed per game (307.9). The Vikings surrender yards...
