Special teams injuries are adding up
The Washington Commanders have added long snapper Tyler Ott to the injury report with an illness, and he’s now questionable to play. Kicker Austin Seibert is also questionable for tomorrow’s game against the Steelers with a right hip injury. Washington signed Zane Gonzalez to the practice squad for insurance in case Seibert can’t play. If he’s not elevated today Seibert should be good to play. Washington’s backup long snapper is LG Nick Allegretti, but hopefully he’s not needed.
The Steelers made several roster moves themselves before they visit the Commanders tomorrow.

New reporting from ESPN’s Tim McManus states Jalen Hurts is indeed dealing with an ankle injury.
According to a league source, Hurts has been dealing with a mild ankle issue for a couple weeks. A separate league source described it as “lower leg soreness” and that his limited practice Wednesday was for load management purposes, with the Eagles playing two games in a...
At 6-2 and leading their division, are the Steelers a tougher opponent than the Ravens?
It’s week 10 of the NFL season and the 7-2 Washington Commanders will be facing a 6-2 Steelers team at home in Northwest Stadium in Landover, MD on Sunday at 1:00 pm EST. The Steelers have only lost games to the Colts and Cowboys so far this season, winning their matchups with the Falcons, Broncos, Chargers, Raiders, Jets, and Giants. The Steelers had a week 9 bye, and so will be playing Washington with an extra week to heal and prepare.
On offense, the Steelers...

Kicker insurance
The Washington Commanders had a new injury pop up that could affect their game plans for Sunday when they host the Pittsburgh Steelers. Kicker Austin Seibert didn’t practice on Wednesday, and was limited yesterday with a right hip injury. Spotlight on the offensive line’s standout performance
Some were calling this a trap game. But the Giants always seem to play Washington tough, no matter how their season is going or what clouds are hanging over their QB.
The Giants were one of six two-win teams heading into the Week 9 matchup. Their offense ranked 26th in the NFL at -0.084 EPA/play, while the Commanders ranked 1st at +0.216 EPA/play. However, that didn’t necessarily mean it would be a cake walk. The Giants pass defense ranks 9th in the league in both yards and TDs allowed.
One of the keys...
Dan Quinn speaks to the media after practice
Dan Quinn spoke to the media after the Washington Commanders’ Friday practice. He ruled Marshon Lattimore out for Sunday’s game due to a hamstring injury he suffered before being traded by the New Orleans Saints. Quinn said the team has a plan for the veteran CB, both with his recovery, and integrating him into the team. Austin Seibert missed Wednesday’s practice, and was limited with a right hip injury. The team worked out kickers today as a precaution, but Seibert did kick at practice today.

It’s another indication of how impossibly different things are with this franchise now. This wasn’t Dan Snyder gassing up his private jet and pulling out his checkbook to buy the prettiest, shiniest ornament, no matter whether it made sense on his tree. (Albert Haynesworth, with Mike Shanahan? What could go wrong?) This was a calculated...
The Commanders offense and Steelers defense is a strength versus strength matchup. Who comes out on top?
The Washington Commanders face another litmus test this Sunday when the Pittsburgh Steelers come into town. The Commanders' offense against the Steelers defense will be one of the premier strengths-versus-strengths matchups of this early season, as Washington's offense ranks in the top three in yards and points, and the Steelers defense ranks second in points and ninth in yards.
Washington should mirror the New York Giants' rushing success against Pittsburgh, as they ran for over 150 rushing yards in their Monday night matchup....

The Dallas defense is allowing the second-most offensive points per game in the NFL. What’s the reason for those struggles?
*The first reason you have to point to is the injuries. Their top four defensive ends, Micah Parsons, DeMarcus Lawrence, Marshawn Kneeland and Sam Williams have either missed some or all of the...
