Ravens and Steelers have concerns but still above both Ohio teams
Week 8 in the AFC North has come and gone and we are approaching the halfway point of the season. The Cleveland Browns secured an emotional win against the Baltimore Ravens, the Cincinnati Bengals find their season slipping away and the Pittsburgh Steelers just get it done, once again.
The AFC playoff picture is interesting for all four AFC North teams with everyone having a chance.

5-3, but the pass defense is a glaring weakness

Jaelon Darden heading to the 53-man roster while Tony Brown II heads to IR
The never-ending changes to the Cleveland Browns roster continue on Tuesday after the big upset win in Week 8. Heading into Week 9, the Browns have some serious injury concerns with LB Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah being hospitalized and CB Denzel Ward in concussion protocol.
Cleveland also has slim playoff hopes that could be improved by a victory this week against the Los Angeles Chargers. Seeing development from WR Cedric Tillman the last two weeks and a couple of young defenders gives a boost to the team’s chances....
Andrew Berry and Kevin Stefanski are tied at the hip under Jimmy Haslam
“When you hear Kevin Stefanski talk, you hear Andrew Berry. When you hear Andrew Berry talk, you hear Kevin Stefanski.”
Every year at the NFL combine a version of that conversation is had before the two leaders of the Cleveland Browns franchise speak to the media gathered. For the most part, those statements have been true. Stefanski and Berry are in lock step publicly in pretty much everything they say.
Behind closed doors, according to most, that remains true as the goal of unity remains from the...

The latest Cleveland Browns coverage from Dawgs By Nature:
The Chargers are the No. 7 seed, and the Browns are two games back of them.
The Cleveland Browns opened as 2.5-point home underdogs against the Los Angeles Chargers ahead of their Week 9 match-up, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The over/under on the game is currently 42.5.
The Browns (2-6) are coming off of a 29-24 victory over the Baltimore Ravens. It was the first game this season without Deshaun Watson as the starting quarterback, and wouldn’t you know it, Jameis Winston threw for over 300 yards and the offense reached 20 points for the first time this season. The...
Mike Hall Jr. and Mohamoud Diabate have made an impact for the Browns defense in Week 8’s victory
At least for one week, the Cleveland Browns are in a unique position of somehow being in playoff contention, just two games out of the final spot, and also being in line for a top 10 pick in the upcoming NFL draft.
The trade of WR Amari Cooper seemed to signal the focus on the future in Cleveland and that still could be true as next week’s NFL trade deadline looms. On the other hand, a victory in Week 9 against the...
Browns fans can also use this as an open thread.
Week 8 of the 2024 NFL season concludes tonight with the New York Giants taking on the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday Night Football. Malik Nabers returned last week against the Eagles, but it was his most pedestrian performance of the season in a 28-3 loss. Still, prior to that, we’re talking about a guy who was electric and single-handedly keeping the Giants in football games.
The Steelers, meanwhile, have been very impressive during their 5-2 start. Also, the switch to Russell Wilson ended up having no negative impact last week,...
Vague social media post does not provide context for Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah’s injury
After the Cleveland Browns pulled off a surprising (shocking?) upset over the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8, the positive around the team is at a season-high. The Browns are still just 2-6 but remain, somehow due to poor AFC records, in the playoff hunt.
Cleveland also is slotted for a top 10 selection in the upcoming NFL draft and has a few veterans that could be valued before the NFL trade deadline.
With the offense finding its groove for the first time in 2024, it will be interesting...
Jameis Winston and Co. showed glimpses of offensive normality against the Ravens on Sunday
The Cleveland Browns defeated the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday by a score of 29 to 24 in an exciting display of renewed offensive competency.
It was a great weekend for Browns fans as their team showed the ability to consistently move the ball on offense, specifically in the passing game. It’s been a while since they’ve been able to regularly convert on 3rd downs and Cleveland converted a season-high 53.3% of them on Sunday. It was incredibly noticeable as the team was not only able to...
