Dawgs By Nature
The Cleveland Browns opened as 7.5-point underdogs on the road against the Chicago Bears ahead of their Week 15 match-up, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. The over/under on the game is 40.5.
The Browns (3-10) are coming off of a 31-29 loss to the Tennessee Titans. Special teams performed poorly again, but the defense joined the party as well, mostly due to having poor run defense. It was actually the offense, particularly the passing game behind Shedeur Sanders, that came alive. Still, it was two failed two-point tries that prevented a win or sending the game to overtime (although that might be a blessing for the Browns’ draft position).
The Bears (9-4) are coming off of a 28-21 loss to the Green Bay Packers, although it was a down-to-the-wire game before the Bears got stopped in the red zone in the final seconds. Before the loss, the Bears were red hot, having won 9 of 10 games. Their offense ranks near the top of the league this year, while their defense has actually been pretty pedestrian. With the Bears losing to the Packers last week, though, they’ve lost their grip on the NFC North and need every win possible to fight for that division as opposed to a wildcard spot (which the Detroit Lions are also on the heels of).
The over/under for the game is 40.5, which is a full touchdown higher than what Cleveland had last week against the Titans. With Shedeur Sanders’ breakout game offensively, are the oddsmakers now viewing the Browns as a team that could be a scoring threat?
