Most predicted the Buffalo Bills would struggle to replace the production from the safety tandem of Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer. The two were as set-it-and-forget-it as things get in the NFL, but all things end, in time. The brought in safety Taylor Rapp, and have been high on him at the free safety spot since day one.
Rapp may struggle to stay on the field thanks to injury, but his status as a starter isn’t up for grabs. It’s all those in the room with Rapp who remain in unknown territory, with head coach Sean McDermott revealing to media...
Buffalo Bills 2025 first-round cornerback Maxwell Hairston has been sidelined since injuring his knee at the end of July and his timetable still remains unclear, per head coach Sean McDermott. Hairston avoided major injury and was diagnosed with a sprained LCL in his right knee.
Hairston was spotted on crutches at the beginning of August but as of last Tuesday, he’s no longer using them and has been seen wearing a rather bulky knee brace.
McDermott also said he “got the vibe that it was trending in the right direction,” which is positive news for the rookie. It’s likely that...
The Buffalo Bills deploy a deep rotation along the defensive line. Players rarely see more than half the team’s defensive snaps over the course of the season, with the top-end linemen topping out around 60% of the snaps. Most players see between 35% and 50% of the snaps. This keeps the defensive line fresh, but it means that the team needs to invest heavily in depth players up front.
While the Bills will likely carry at least five defensive ends on the 53-man roster, it still means that they have a large need for camp bodies throughout July and August....
They say every cloud has a silver lining… I think. Someone says that, I’m pretty sure. If not, at least I just said it, so now it’s a thing. Yes, it was preseason but the 38-0 drubbing by the Chicago Bears is hard to see as anything other than a cloud for fans of the Buffalo Bills. There were some silver-lining plays though. Don’t believe? Well step right in to my All-22 highlight machine.
Gosh, our hopes so high at this moment! This season the NFL changed the kickoff rules again, giving the receiving team an...
There were very few positives for Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane and head coach Sean McDermott to take away from Buffalo’s uninspiring 38-0 shellacking at the hands of the Chicago Bears Sunday night in Week 2 of the NFL’s preseason.
After the dust had settled from the debacle in the Windy City — the worst preseason loss in at least the last 50 years of the franchise — today’s edition of Buffalo Rumblinks leads off by examining what went right and what went wrong from a game described by McDermott as “certainly not up to our standard.”
Bills loss...
The veteran receiver is heading back home for a workout.
Fans felt it was a matter of time before we saw this news and now it appears to be reality. Wide receiver Gabe Davis is set to return to Buffalo on a free agent visit after he meets with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Tuesday. Davis was a fourth-round pick of the Bills in 2020 and had an up and down four seasons before signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars in free agency.
Davis is in Pittsburgh for a medical recheck, which could be why he remains unsigned so late in the...
The Buffalo Bills are in the throes of challenging roster decisions, but injuries refuse to go ignored during the process. That often makes for less clear-cut choices when trying to build a team coaches feel is strong enough to endure the challenges of a season. One Bills Drive is no stranger to this game of cat & mouse, with the latest setbacks coming off a long weekend in Chicago, IL.
Ahead of their preseason matchup at Soldier Field, Buffalo took part in a joint practice session with the Bears on Friday. Initially few reports claimed anyone as injured for the...
The Buffalo Bills endured a lopsided 38-0 loss to the Chicago Bears in their second preseason game of the year, a result that might unsettle some fans but serves to remind that exhibition games exist to work out kinks. There have been plenty of questions about both safety positions since Buffalo moved on from Jordan Poyer and Micah Hyde.
With that, all eyes are now on Cole Bishop, a 2024 second-round pick who’s projected to start alongside Taylor Rapp. Despite a rough outing against the Chicago Bears, Bishop continues to flash athleticism that suggests he’ll thrive as a starter with...
It’s no secret at this point that Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott expects to see more out of wide receiver Curtis Samuel. Since his arrival at One Bills Drive as a free agent in 2024, Samuel’s tenure with Buffalo has been plagued by injury.
Last season, it was a turf toe injury that threw a curve ball at plans all season long. Samuel never looked completely explosive, at least until the postseason began. Building off a great run in the playoffs that saw him account for three touchdowns, many have high expectations of Samuel ahead of the 2025 season....
The Buffalo Bills and the Chicago Bears met for a preseason game on August 17. The Bears won the game 38-0. While some may be concerned with that result, exhibition season is meant to be taken as a time to work through questions. For the Bills, some of those questions involve starting positions — looking at you, safety group — but most of the questions have to do with reserves.
The Bills know who their starting linebackers are. In most cases, the team runs a nickel defense, which means that Matt Milano and Terrel Bernard will slot in as the...
We’ve settled on a single play from each game to represent or “illustrate” that part of the Buffalo Bills’ 2024 season. Now it’s time to pit those plays against each other in a ruthless contest to decide what play stands above them all to be crowned the Play That Defines the 2024 Season.
Which moment will join the hall of awesome started with Josh Allen Jumping Over Things?

The Away Games bracket had a few surprises in store for me last round....
The presumed starting safeties for the 2025 season were already on the Bills’ roster entering August. Even the top backup was basically in place. That’s not necessarily surprising, as it would be alarming if the team still didn’t have a clear idea of who would be playing on defense just a month from the start of the season.
Then, injuries happened. One young player has missed a significant amount of training camp for the second straight year. With some other players banged up, the Bills had to make a move to ensure that they had enough bodies moving forward.
