Some early Week 9 odds are available from our friends at FanDuel Sportsbook, and they have the Chicago Bears as a 2.5-point road favorite over the Cincinnati Bengals.
Earlier today, the Bears (4-3) were thoroughly whipped by the Baltimore Ravens, 30 to 16, in a game that saw Chicago dominate the first quarter statistically, but only had a 6-0 lead to show for it after two field goals. The Ravens regrouped offensively, stiffened on defense, and took control of the game. This was the first game of the year in which the Bears failed to score at least 21 points,...

For two completely separate reasons, the general sense was that both the Chicago Bears and Baltimore Ravens needed to win this game to keep long-term playoff hopes alive. On Sunday, Baltimore proved to be the hungrier team.
Lamar Jackson didn’t suit up for the Ravens, but their offense was still able to have their way with Chicago’s defense. The result was a 30-16 loss for the Bears that saw their record drop to 4-3 in the 2025 NFL season.
Here are some of the biggest takeaways from the Bears’ Week 8 game.

The Chicago Bears will try to do something that they haven’t done since Matt Nagy was on the sideline, and that’s win five games in a row. In his first year as Chicago head coach (2018), Nagy’s Bears had a five-game stretch of wins en route to a 12-4 record and an NFC North title.
Standing in the way will be a desperate Baltimore Ravens squad looking for just their second win this year.
This will be your open thread to talk about the game, and keep in mind that our open threads are rated WCG-MA, so there may be...

In case you missed it, yesterday the Bears placed nickel Kyler Gordon and tackle Braxton Jones on injured reserve while signing Jonathan Ford to the 53-man...

Good morning. The Chicago Bears are on a four-game winning streak.
As always, there are questions surrounding how this team got there and how they can keep it going, but the wins in the win column over the last four weeks have spoken for themselves.
This time, the Bears, who have won behind stopping the run and running the ball very effectively themselves the last two weeks, take on the Lamar Jackson-less Baltimore Ravens, who might be in a little hot water with the Edgar Allen Poe shenanigans they may or may not have tried to pull with the injury...

Hello, Chicago Bears fans! Welcome to this week’s prediction column where the WCG contributors give us their predictions for this week’s matchup between the Chicago Bears and the Baltimore Ravens, in Baltimore at 12:00pm CST this Sunday. This week’s predictions came at a time of great uncertainty – some of our contributors made their predictions while Lamar Jackson was still expected to play, but also before Kyler Gordon and Tyrique Stevenson were officially ruled out as well. The Bears are down all three starting cornerbacks, in addition to Cole Kmet, Austin Booker, and Braxton Jones. Jones and Gordon have been...

The last time the Chicago Bears played the Baltimore Ravens, linebacker Roquan Smith racked up 17 tackles for the Bears in a 16 to 13 loss. The following season (2022), Chicago traded him to Baltimore when they couldn’t agree on terms for a new contract, and he’s been a First-Team All-Pro every year since. This will be his first time playing his former team, and he’s looking forward to it.
“I’m excited about the matchup, for sure,” he said via the Chicago Sun Times. “A lot of amazing people over there that I have a tremendous amount of respect for,...

A fourth consecutive win didn’t change the minds of the 4% of our fans who aren’t buying what the Chicago Bears are selling. Last week’s confidence poll results checked in at 96% and we’re holding steady there this week. Maybe last week’s 26 to 14, wire-to-wire win over the New Orleans Saints wasn’t impressive enough for them. The Bears jumped out to a 20 to 0 lead, then faltered a little midgame, before settling down and closing it out. They did what they were supposed to do and beat a team they were favored over.
The Bears are at the...

So much for that Caleb Williams-Lamar Jackson showdown we were hoping to see.
Jackson, who was rumored to be a game-time decision for Sunday’s game after practicing in “full” on Friday, will sit out the contest with his hamstring injury not fully healed. Turns out the Ravens were playing games with the injury report and, once they got caught giving Jackson scout-team reps at Friday’s walkthrough, ruled the reigning MVP out almost immediately.
It would’ve been a fun measuring stick for Williams and the Bears, who are in the midst of a four-game winning streak, to face off against Jackson...

The NFL season is an evolving state of affairs, and week 8 on the road against a hobbled and desperate 1-5 Baltimore Ravens squad coming off a BYE is a prime example of how much can change in a short period of time in this league.
In this weekly series, I’ll be featuring one player from each team on each side of the ball who I believe to be integral to their respective team’s success. Like seasons past, you won’t see any QBs, and you also won’t see any star defensive players like Micah Parsons and Maxx Crosby.
No, these...

On Saturday, the Chicago Bears made a couple of unexpected roster moves when they placed left tackle Braxton Jones and nickleback Kyler Gordon on injured reserve.
Jones, who was limited at Wednesday’s practice but didn’t practice on Thursday or Friday with a knee injury, was serving as the backup left tackle since Theo Benedet won the starting job a couple of weeks ago.
Gordon, who just returned to the lineup a couple of weeks ago, injured his groin/calf at practice this week. Each player will now miss a minimum of four games while on IR.
The Bears also announced that...

The Baltimore Ravens have ruled two-time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson out for their Sunday matchup against the Chicago Bears, the team announced on X on Saturday.
Jackson worked with Baltimore’s scout team, generally indicating he would be unavailable for the game. They had previously announced him as a full participant in practice near the end of the week, but with a short week coming up – they play the Dolphins on Thursday after their matchup against Chicago – it looks like they’re playing things safe. They also changed his practice status on Friday from full to limited.
The Bears will...
