I get it – no one cares about the stats after a loss. The big conversation early this week is how Caleb played vs how he needs to play for this team to consistently win football games and obviously another zero TD performance doesn’t help anything. However, I don’t think Caleb played as bad as some think (want?) him to have played. His final line of 25/38 for 285 yards, with a few opportunities left on the field, needs to be better. I’m confident it will get there. Here are the updated stats on the Infogram:
You may remember from...

The Chicago Bears let a winnable game slip away from them at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens.
Much like the loss to the Minnesota Vikings in week one, this was a game that the Bears will almost surely look back upon at the end of the season with regret. Could have, should have.
The team was bad in all three phases. Way too many penalties, yet again. A quarterback still trying to find his way in the new offense. A special teams unit that can’t seem to cover anyone in the return game. And a defense...

During the Chicago Bears’ four-game winning streak, they received pick-me-ups from all three phases, but yesterday against the Baltimore Ravens, they were let down by all three. I’ll even throw in the coaching, because the game plan on both sides of the ball had some issues. That said, the Bears were facing a Ravens team much better than their one win would indicate, and Ravens head coach John Harbaugh is one of the best all-time when coaching out of a bye week.
It was an unfortunate stinker for the Bears, who hadn’t lost since September 14 and also had the...

Another rough injury to the Chicago Bears’ defense. This time, it is rookie defensive lineman Shemar Turner whose season is over with a torn ACL, per head coach Ben Johnson.
Turner, one of the Bears’ three 2nd round picks in the 2025 NFL draft, was having a solid rookie year with 6 tackles and 2 TFLs. Turner was projected to be a DT this season, but has started rotating in at DE, where he has shown some burst.
He was injured on a play during the 1st Quarter against the Ravens and was eventually carted off the field for evaluation....

Going into Sunday, the Chicago Bears had a chance to rid themselves once again of the demons that haunted them in 2024, breaking through a (4-2) start with an additional win to match their 2024 win total seven games into the season. Instead, the team will leave Baltimore with many more questions than answers after being thoroughly dominated from the second quarter on. In many ways, it was the same team with the same mistakes we’ve seen all year. The most significant difference on Sunday afternoon was that their ridiculous streak of takeaways ended, and the offense still couldn’t find...

Sloppy play continued to spoil the Chicago Bears’ efforts this week, this time too much to overcome. Let’s get to my notes.
Windy City Gridiron
There are some persistent issues plaguing the Chicago Bears this season, but nothing more so than the penalties. The Bears have been flagged more than their opponents in every game this year, and in Sunday’s 30 to 16 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, they were penalized 11 times for 79 yards, while Baltimore was penalized just 6 times for 45 yards. That’s the third game this season in which the Bears were hit with at least five more penalties than their opponent.
The season totals are 72 penalties for 533 yards for the Bears, and 36 penalties for 254 yards...
Windy City Gridiron
After an ugly 30-16 loss against the Baltimore Ravens, the Chicago Bears fell to 4-3. This loss ends a four-game winning streak for the team. From the poor quarterback play, bad kick-off coverage, play calling, lack of separation from receivers, inability to capitalize in the red zone, and the multitude of penalties, there’s a lot of blame to go around for why the Bears lost this one. They simply did not play complementary football today.
Many of these issues have been persisting from week to week, and it was just a matter of time before they came to a head....

Following the Chicago Bears’ game against the Baltimore Ravens, head coach Ben Johnson was asked about the injury that saw nickleback Kyler Gordon land on injured reserve on Saturday.
“We’re hoping it’s going to be of the short-term variety, so we should be able to get him back,” Johnson said. “But yeah, it’s another soft tissue injury that we’re dealing with.”
If able, the soonest Gordon could come off IR would be for Week 12 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Gordon worked through a hamstring injury earlier this season that kept him out of Chicago’s first four games, and this latest...

Some early Week 9 odds are available from our friends at FanDuel Sportsbook, and they have the Chicago Bears as a 2.5-point road favorite over the Cincinnati Bengals.
Earlier today, the Bears (4-3) were thoroughly whipped by the Baltimore Ravens, 30 to 16, in a game that saw Chicago dominate the first quarter statistically, but only had a 6-0 lead to show for it after two field goals. The Ravens regrouped offensively, stiffened on defense, and took control of the game. This was the first game of the year in which the Bears failed to score at least 21 points,...
