That winning streak was fun while it lasted, so let’s see if the Chicago Bears can take the first step towards another when they meet up with the Cincinnati Bengals today. By definition, a winning streak is at least three games in a row, and the last time the Bears had multiple winning streaks in the same season was 2018, when they rattled off three such streaks on their way to a 12-4 record.
But first, they need to handle their business in Cincy.
This will be your open thread to talk about the game this afternoon, but keep in...

Hello, Chicago Bears Fans! Our WCG writers are coming strong this week as the Bears look to get back on track after a disappointing loss against the Baltimore Ravens last week. This week is again a tale of injury reports, as the Bengals are likely to be without their best defensive player, Trey Hendrickson, and Joe Flacco is playing with a sprain in his throwing shoulder. Meanwhile, the Bears have attempted to shore up their decimated defensive backfield by signing the infamous CJ Gardner-Johnson, who is indelibly ensconced in Bears fans’ memories for his confrontation with Javon Wims in the...

We’re approaching the midpoint of the NFL season, and the Chicago Bears have a winning record (4-3), just ike they did a year ago.
We all know how last season turned out, but this Bears team has a chance to bounce back from last week’s stinker in Baltimore against the (3-5) Cincinnati Bengals. Chicago should be able to get their passing game on track, as the Bengals are allowing the third most passing yards in the NFL at 256 per game. Then again, the Bears should be able to run the ball because Cincinnati has the worst run defense in...

The NFL season is an evolving state of affairs, and week 9 finds your 4-3 Chicago Bears right back in the crosshairs of a .500 season with the dream of playoff football seemingly slipping through their grasp. Or, right back at the front of the pack in terms of playoff odds.
In this weekly series, I’ll be featuring one player from each team on each side of the ball who I believe to be integral to their respective team’s success. It’s not always about the quarterback or superstar defensive players like Trey Hendrickson and Myles Garrett. Importance is all relative,...

This summer, I took the opportunity to survey the landscape of Chicago Bears rivalries entering the 2025 NFL season. This included a ranking of the team’s (or fanbase’s) ten biggest rivals, with three honorable mentions thrown in for good measure:
My ranking took a number of factors into consideration, but now that the we are well into the new season, I thought it would be a good opportunity to revisit these rivalries and assess how each has been affected by the changing landscape of the NFL in 2025. While I won’t be re-ranking them at this time, what I will...

One week ago, our fanbase was still riding high after watching the Chicago Bears win a fourth straight game. According to our Reacts survey, our confidence in the franchise was 96%. Also, only 7% of our fans believed this 2025 version of the team is still the “same old Bears.” So things were looking up.
But seeing the Bears lose to the Baltimore Ravens really shook some of you, as our weekly confidence results dropped all the way down to 66%.
Thirty percent of you who were feeling really optimistic one week, feeling like the Ben Johnson-led Chicago Bears were...

In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, which tore off nearly 70% of the Superdome’s roof and forced the Saints to play their “home games” across three different stadiums, including LSU’s Tiger Stadium, Kyle Orton was named the Bears’ starting quarterback for the 2005 season after Rex Grossman broke his left ankle in the preseason against the St. Louis Rams. (Grossman would later returned in Week 16, leading Chicago to a 24–17 win on Christmas Day to clinch the...

On her latest Making Monsters podcast, Taylor Doll got some help from a couple of friends to preview this Sunday’s Chicago Bears vs Cincinnati Bengals game.
First, she’s joined by our very own Bill Zimmerman to preview the Bears’ side of the ball and how Chicago’s offense can get going against a struggling Bengals team. They chat about some of the secondary issues and what the defense will look like on Sunday.
She’s also joined by long-time NFL Coach Mark Duffner, who spent the last five years with the Bengals as a Senior Defensive Assistant and has nearly 50 years...

Does the Chicago Bears’ sitting at (4-3) make them more or less likely to swing a trade before the deadline hits on Tuesday, November 4, at 3:00 p.m. CT? Could the result of this Sunday’s game aganst the Cincinnati Bengals factor into any possible deals?
The recent free agent addition of defensive back C.J. Johnson-Gardner and the recent activation of defensive end Austin Booker off injured reserve may also play a role.
Before looking at some of the “rumors,” I want to address the use of the word rumor. Oftentimes, league insiders frame their reports as speculation, which means it’s...

The Chicago Bears look to get back in the winning column after dropping one last week to the Baltimore Ravens. Their opponent is the Cincinnati Bengals, who have a porous defense and give us some interesting opportunities to bet on Chicago Bears players on props. Last year, we published after Lamar Jackson was a “full participant” in practice, so we gave Lamar over passing yards, which, of course, ended up being a non-play. Last week we went 1-1, which brings our season record to 13-7.
What do we like this week? Here are three props to play.

The Cincinnati Bengals have a lot of firepower on their offense, while the Chicago Bears are reeling defensively due to injuries.
It’s a battle of strength versus weakness in a lot of ways this weekend and it’s going to be a tough match up for the Bears to get a win on the road.
But they are favored, and the Bengals preferred starter, Joe Flacco, is questionable to play.
It will no doubt be an interesting game.
We asked our staff to give us their keys for a Bears win. Here’s what they said.
