On Monday, the Minnesota Vikings cut 26-year-old cornerback Nahshon Wright, and on Tuesday, the Chicago Bears signed him to a one-year deal.
Minnesota initially acquired the 6’4” Wright on August 9, 2024, in a trade with the Dallas Cowboys for corner Andrew Booth Jr. The Cowboys drafted Wright with the 99th overall selection in the 2021 NFL Draft out of Oregon State, and in his three years in Dallas, he played in 33 games (3 starts) and was a core special teamer. While with the Cowboys, Wright was coached by Al Harris, who is now Chicago’s defensive backs coach and defensive pass game coordinator.
Wright’s time in Minnesota was spent mostly on the practice squad, but he was elevated for one game, where he played 15 snaps on special teams.
What are your thoughts on this latest pickup? Does Wright have a chance to win a spot on the 53-man roster?
