The Miami Dolphins and linebacker Jordyn Brooks have agreed to a three-year contract extension, keeping the veteran with the team through the 2029 season. Earlier in the offseason, new general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan identified core players he envisioned the Dolphins building around as they reset their roster for the future. With the extension of Brooks, Miami has now reached contract agreements with three of those players, including running back De’Von Achane and center Aaron Brewer.

We’re almost there, folks: training camp.

While the NFL offseason is tediously long, I’m usually fine and adequately preoccupied with baseball and the usual summer activities that fill evenings and weekends. The World Cup was also a welcome distraction this year.

Nonetheless, when the MLB All-Star Break hits, the itch becomes impossible to scratch, and football season can’t arrive soon enough.
