The New England Patriots were expected to be active at the trade deadline on Tuesday, but the front office ended up standing pat. The only move the team ended up making saw them sign wide receiver Brendan Rice to the practice squad, which led to another player getting released later in the day.

The 2025 Miami Dolphins have been a disaster. They are 2-7 and are coming off a massive blowout loss to the Baltimore Ravens, which everyone saw on Thursday Night Football. After Chris Grier and the organization mutually agreed to part ways, the Dolphins got active at the trade deadline. The New York Jets made the two biggest trades of NFL Trade Deadline day, dealing Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner. First was Gardner, who was dealt to the Indianapolis Colts before the extension he signed this offseason even began. Jets rookie GM Darren Mougey spoke about trading Gardner at his post-deadline press conference.

“Darren Mougey on Sauce Gardner, said they structured the contract in a way that it would be a tradeable contract if that sort of opportunity came to pass,” The Athletic’s Zach Rosenblatt reported.

The Detroit Lions hosted three offensive linemen for workouts on Tuesday, including OL Jack Conley, OL Chris Hubbard, and OL Netane Muti.

Hubbard, 34, signed on with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of UAB back in 2013. He spent his first year on the practice squad before returning to the team on two consecutive one-year contracts.
