Bears HC Ben Johnson made it clear that nobody would be given a job, despite their draft status.
“We talked about it the moment the players got back in the building [April 7],” Johnson said, via Bears Wire. “*It was going to be a competitive environment. There is no depth chart right now. If you want to play, you’ve got to go earn it. If you want a role, you’ve got to go earn it. They know that. We were very straightforward and honest with them when they came in the building. I think all we did this...
Xaviar Babudar won’t be seeing the light of day for many years to come.
The Kansas City Chiefs superfan, otherwise known as “Chiefsaholic,” was sentenced to more time in state prison on Monday.
Babudar, who rose to fame for showing up to Chiefs games in a wolf costume, was sentenced to 32 years in prison after he pleaded guilty to a 2022 bank robbery.
His sentence will be served concurrently to his 17.5-year federal sentence he received last year for a spree of bank robberies.
Xaviar Babudar, who was wearing a mask, entered the bank and pointed a gun at...
Former Chargers CB Asante Samuel, Jr. underwent neck surgery in April and is waiting to sign with another team, according to Jeremy Fowler.
Fowler reports that Samuel visited with the Saints on Monday. He has a check-up in early July at which point he will reconvene with “several” interested teams.
Samuel, 25, is the son of former NFL CB Asante Samuel and opted out of the 2020 collegiate season after eight games. The Chargers drafted Samuel Jr. with pick No. 47 overall.
Samuel played out the final year of his four-year deal worth $7,222,944 that included a $2,613,050 signing bonus....
Hendrickson is still waiting for a long-term deal.
Cincinnati Bengals star pass rusher Trey Hendrickson is still awaiting a contract extension as the 30-year-old pro bowler, who logged 17.5 sacks this past season, is entering the final year of his deal that is set to pay him $15.8 million.
Unlike Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins, the Bengals have not worked all that fast in making sure Hendrickson is signed long-term.
Despite Hendrickson being vocal about his desire for a long-term deal, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport believes the Bengals will eventually lock up their star pass rusher.
“I understand he’s...
Following the trade of George Pickens, the Pittsburgh Steelers find themselves in a familiar predicament: they need another wide receiver. The organization shelled out a lot to acquire DK Metcalf to be their go-to target in Arthur Smith’s offense, but they need to find him a competent complement to avoid opposing defenses hyper-focusing on him on game days. With the free agent market underwhelming at this point in the proceedings, the team would be better suited to pursue an upgrade via trade.
SN analyst Derrick Bell breaks down the best, most realistic targets for the Steelers to pursue with the...
Colts GM Chris Ballard said the decision to release K Matt Gay was not about his talent but about K Spencer Shrader‘s development.
“Then he leaves us and performs and performs at two different teams –you know how hard that is?” Ballard said, via the team’s website. “*That’s difficult now, to go to two different teams and have to perform – that is not easy. You’re working with a totally different operation at both – different snapper and different holder – and to go in and be successful. This had more to do with Spencer than it did,...
Last week, the story of Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill listing his top five quarterbacks in the NFL emerged. Hill, who since arriving in Miami has touted his starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa as one of, if not the best, quarterbacks in the NFL, somehow now left him off the list, leading to a lot of speculation among fans and the media.
After that story came out, I asked the following question:
***Do you view the latest unfortunate story surrounding Tyreek Hill as a non-issue that the media and some fans are exaggerating, or could there be something more to...
And where? And why?
We’ve already learned a bit about the 2025 NFL schedule, with various outlets announcing some of the games they’ll be broadcasting this season and when. The overseas games will be announced on Tuesday morning and we’ll have the full schedule by Wednesday night, but in the meantime, we have a question we want to ask you about our Minnesota Vikings.
There are 14 possible opponents for our favorite football team to face in Week 1 this season. They won’t be facing the Philadelphia Eagles, the Dallas Cowboys, or the Los Angeles Chargers, as all of their...
And why we love it.
People care WAY more about the official NFL schedule releases than they should, but I kind of get it. And I kind of get it because it’s NOT just a list of who plays who, because the NFL schedule is loaded with minefields, and the NFL loves nothing more than threatening all of us with all of their nonsense. And they have SO MUCH NONSENSE to threaten us with.
Baseball can’t really do this as they simply need to cram all 162 games into the time frame allotted, with only the Fourth of July and...
Less than a week after he was released by the Jaguars, veteran wide receiver Gabriel Davis visited the 49ers, according to FOX Sports’ Jordan Schultz.
Davis arrived in Jacksonville last offseason on a three-year, $39MM deal, but struggled to make an impact before tearing his meniscus in November. He underwent season-ending surgery, but is expected to complete his recovery in time for the 2025 season, per Schultz.
Wide receiver isn’t a significant roster need for the 49ers, but they did trade Deebo Samuel this offseason and Brandon Aiyuk is still recovering from a significant knee injury sustained in October. [He’s...
