The final game of the 2025 regular season for our Minnesota Vikings is officially within sight, as the first injury reports for the week have been released. Let’s take a look at who’s dealing with issues and what capacity they’re practicing in (or not practicing in).

Now that the season is all but over with one meaningless game left to play, the attention is now on the offseason (at least for me). I hope the team can come out of this game injury free and I hope they play it safe with any starter that is already banged up like Brian O’Neill, TJ Hockenson, and JJ McCarthy. No use playing JJ now. They cannot risk him getting hurt again in a meaningless game. Yes, he needs snaps but the Packers will likely be sitting a bunch of starters too.
I’m not sure what the team is...

If we are seeing the final few games in the end of the career of future Hall of Famer Harrison Smith, the Hitman is going out with a bang.
The announcement has just come down that Smith has been named the NFC’s Defensive Player of the Week for his performance against the Detroit Lions in Week 17, where he helped lead a Minnesota Vikings defense that suffocated one of the NFL’s top offenses all afternoon in the team’s 23-10 victory over the Lions on Christmas Day.
In the victory, Smith had three tackles, including two tackles for loss, an interception,...

Stats are for losers. That quote has been echoed by countless coaches, players, owners, and team personnel throughout NFL history. With the season lost, we have time before the final game to focus on stats rather than what truly matters.
Justin Jefferson is 53 yards short of 1,000 yards for the season. It’s a milestone he has achieved his first 5 seasons in the NFL. Normally, you’d not even think twice about him going over that low total, but it’s been that kind of year. Inconsistent QB play, drops, and overall team struggles have kept Jefferson relatively quiet this season....

It’s time for our last SB Nation Reacts survey about our Minnesota Vikings for this regular season, folks. Because of the holiday last week and everything that comes with it, we didn’t get the results of our confidence poll (and neither did any of the other SB Nation NFL sites), but I’ll update all of the confidence numbers for the season...

Tyler Forness and producer Dave Stefano delivered a fiery post-Christmas episode of The Real Forno Show, dissecting the Minnesota Vikings’ burning offseason questions just days before their 2025 season finale against the Green Bay Packers. With Brian Flores rumors swirling and J.J. McCarthy’s health in focus, this Vikings 1st & SKOL production is a must-watch for purple faithful.
In this post-Christmas episode, Forness and Stefano dissected key offseason storylines as the 8-8 Vikings prepare for a meaningless-but-pride-filled clash with the playoff-locked Packers (likely resting starters).

One of the greats of recent Minnesota Vikings history is now one step closer to reaching pro football immortality.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame has announced its list of the fifteen “Modern Era” finalists for potential enshrinement in the Class of 2026, and among them is Vikings defensive lineman Kevin Williams. This is his sixth year of eligibility and the first time he’s made the final fifteen as a finalist.
The Vikings drafted Williams with the ninth overall pick in the 2003 NFL Draft out of Oklahoma State, and he spent eleven seasons with the team. During his time...

The Vikings are unfortunately out of the playoffs, but that pain was eased every so slightly by beating the Lions on Christmas and simultaneously ending any hopes Detroit still had for the postseason.
Now in a season-finale matchup with the Packers, there’s simply nothing to play for other than bragging rights over a divisional opponent. That is a good amount of fun and reason to watch for die-hard fans, but for those who aren’t as locked in to the context of the situation and just want to be there for the game-day vibes, the food you’re serving will help give...

The Minnesota Vikings will finish up their 2025 NFL season in front of the home crowd at U.S. Bank Stadium against the Green Bay Packers, and the early betting lines seem to be an indicator of how the sharps seem to think the visiting team is going to handle their business.
According to the FanDuel Sportsbook, the Vikings have been installed as a 5.5-point favorite over the Packers ahead of their matchup in Week 18, which will kick off at noon Central time on CBS. The over/under for the game currently sits at 36.5 points, which matches the lowest figure...

The Minnesota Vikings swept the season series against the Detroit Lions on Christmas Day. The Vikings knocked their divisional rival out of playoff contention, but also clinched the playoffs for the Packers at the same time. The Week 18 matchup between Green Bay and Minnesota will be meaningless for playoff positioning. The Lions offense was stifled all day by the relentless Vikings defense. Max Brosmer and the offense weren’t able to get much going, but did just enough to get the team over the finish line. Will Reichard was perfect on the day, as we all have come to expect....

In this festive post-Christmas episode of Two Old Bloggers on Vikings 1st & SKOL, hosts Darren Campbell (fresh from his trip), Dave Stefano, and this season’s sidekick Drew Bunting deliver passionate, unfiltered analysis of the Minnesota Vikings’ thrilling 23-10 upset over the Detroit Lions. The defense stole the show on Netflix’s holiday showcase, forcing six turnovers to eliminate Detroit from playoff contention while rookie QB Max Brosmer managed a gritty (if limited—very) performance amid J.J. McCarthy’s hand injury absence.
The nearly two-hour live stream relives the chaos: Harrison Smith’s vintage masterpiece (interception, sack, tackles for loss), Andrew Van Ginkel’s dominance,...
