A roster move! An actual roster move!
The Minnesota Vikings made a roster move on Tuesday, which at this point of the offseason qualifies as real, honest-to-goodness news.
The team has announced that they have signed tight end Giovanni Ricci. In order to make room for him on the roster, they have waived linebacker Matt Harmon.
Ricci went undrafted out of Western Michigan in 2020 and signed with the Carolina Panthers, spending that season on the practice squad. He then appeared in 31 games for the Panthers over the next two seasons, serving as both a fullback and a tight...

Welcome to the All-Time Favorite Viking Team series. We’re going through and voting by position for your favorite Viking players. There are no set criteria other than they played for the Minnesota Vikings. It’s your favorite player at that position.
Today we’re looking at the Wide Receiver position. The Vikings have had so many greats at the position.
Randy Moss (1998-2004, 2010)
15,292 yards receiving with 156 TDs
Like many fans my age, Moss is the reason I started watching the Vikings. He was an immediate game changer when he came in. He was 3rd in MVP voting his rookie...
And it could be a notable one
Since we haven’t got a whole lot in the way of actual, breaking Minnesota Vikings news to talk about at the moment, let’s talk for a minute about the 2026 NFL Draft. Specifically, what extra picks the Minnesota Vikings could get from the Compensatory Pick process.
As discussed in previous posts here, the Vikings are currently set to receive two Compensatory selections in 2026. They’re slated to receive a third-round pick for the loss of Sam Darnold and a fifth-round pick for the loss of Daniel Jones. The Jones selection could, from my...

We’re on Day 5. Now that we know our RB, let’s take a look at the Tight Ends. The two highest votes will get the starting spots. My suspicion will be there is one clear winner, but there are several good choices that might end up as TE2.
Jim Kleinsasser (1999-2011)
1,688 career receiving yards with 6 TDs

And so they should be
It’s time to bring everyone the results of our SB Nation Reacts poll from this past week, so let’s get to what fans of the Minnesota Vikings are thinking.
We’ll get the question with a little less suspense out of the way first, as we asked whether or not you fine folks were planning on making the trip to either or both of the overseas games the purple will be playing in 2025. The answer was a pretty resounding “nope.”
A full 95% of the people who answered our survey said that they are not...
The trade netted the Vikings one of the greatest players in franchise history...not bad, huh?
Stefon Diggs made headlines recently as he was recorded on a boat surrounded by scantily-clad women while brandishing a mysterious pink powder.
While it’s likely not the most damaging thing for a Viking/former Viking to do on a boat, it certainly hasn’t been well-received by the New England Patriots, for whom Diggs has yet to play a down and still may not for a few weeks into the season as he recovers from a torn ACL.
It’s not the first time, and likely not the...
Separating the usual from the unusual this time of year
As the Minnesota Vikings complete their OTA practices over the past couple weeks, they still have mandatory mini-camp next week and one more round of OTAs the following week- we are beginning to get a little flavor for this year’s team and how it may differ from last year’s team.
Of course this is the time of year for a lot of throw-away lines from players (e.g. “I feel great”) and coaches (e.g. “we’re just trying to get better every day”) that all sound good but don’t really give you...
It might be penny wise to add more veteran depth
Should the Vikings feel comfortable with the cornerback group? The top four are Byron Murphy, Isaiah Rodgers, Jeff Okudah, and Mekhi Blackmon (no particular order). After these four there are a lot of dudes with potential. I could see the argument for adding another cornerback in free agency but that would mean less snaps for Blackmon and Okudah most likely. I think it would be OK. The question is who?

**Minnesota Vikings...
The third installment of the series in which I write about reasons that I am grateful to be a Minnesota Vikings fan going into the 2025 season. If we live with a gratitude mindset, we will be rewarded with things worth being grateful for.
At the end of the day, all NFL players have one thing in common: they’re humans. Don’t get me wrong, most, if not all of them are freakishly athletic, but humans, nonetheless. They are all at different parts of the lives, their careers, and their spiritual journeys. Veterans and leaders...
Thank goodness for that
Since there’s really nothing else of note happening today (as long as you’re not actively looking at social media), we can bring you the report of how our short, regionally-specific nightmare has officially come to an end.
Numerous sources are reporting that former Green Bay Packers and New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers will be signing a one-year deal to become the quarterback of the Pittsburgh Steelers. This comes after a couple of months of the media breathlessly pushing “Aaron Rodgers to Minnesota” stories because, say, did you know that Brett Favre played for Green Bay...
