Welcome to the Steelers Afternoon Drive, our new daily podcast featuring all the latest Steelers news and analysis.
Alan Saunders and Zachary Smith discuss all things Pittsburgh Steelers. On today’s show, we discuss what went wrong for the team in their loss to the Cleveland Browns. The team wasn’t able to keep Myles Garrett from wrecking shop against Russell Wilson and company. Despite winning the turnover battle, TJ Watt and company weren’t able to make enough plays to keep Jameis Winston and company from...
Once a Steeler, always a Steeler. While appearing on ESPN’s First Take, former Steelers safety-turned-analyst Ryan Clark proved he will forever bleed Black and Gold.
Host Molly Qerim asked Clark if Head Coach Mike Tomlin was to blame for the Pittsburgh Steelers’ Week 12 loss to the Cleveland Browns. Clark, demonstrating immense loyalty to his former coach, defended Tomlin’s most questionable call—the acceptance of the illegal touching by an offensive lineman penalty in the fourth quarter—stating it was the correct decision.
Clark added that making the field goal attempt tougher with the acceptance of the penalty could have paid dividends...
Happy Friday, and I hope yinz are doing well. The Pittsburgh Steelers aren’t doing quite as well. Following an 18-16 win last Sunday against the Baltimore Ravens, they’re reeling after a 24-19 upset loss to the Cleveland Browns on Thursday night. A sloppy game in all phases. Too many offensive penalties and the inability to […]

A short week after a very difficult, physical matchup last Sunday led to a rather sloppy, ugly showing for the Pittsburgh Steelers Thursday night on the road against the Cleveland Browns, resulting in a tough 24-19 loss. The game gave us everything from the Steelers, from the slow start and sloppy execution pre- and post-snap […]

Despite out-gaining the Cleveland Browns 368-304 and winning the turnover battle 3-1, the Pittsburgh Steelers left snowy Cleveland with a 24-19 loss on Thursday night. Fourth downs ended up being the difference, as the Steelers went 1-3 on fourth downs, while the Browns were a perfect 4-4. Chris Boswell also missed a 58-yard field goal.
It certainly was a wild game on the shores of Lake Erie. In fact, the Browns did something that no other team in NFL history has accomplished. The Browns...
The more things change, the more they stay the same. Such is the life of the 2024 Pittsburgh Steelers‘ wide receiver room. While the Steelers addressed potential depth issues through free agency, the draft, and the trade deadline with WRs Van Jefferson, Roman Wilson, and Mike Williams respectively, there has been almost nothing from these three to show for it.
Specifically, much of the hype surrounding the Williams acquisition leaves fans scratching their heads over why his usage has been so minimal.
His Week 10 debut saw him score the game-deciding TD, but he hasn’t received a single target in...
Are the fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers experiencing their own rendition of a Matt Canada-esque Groundhog Day with OC Arthur Smith? While Smith’s offense is schematically better than anything Canada did for the Steel City, his playcalling in recent weeks has left much to be desired.
From failed gadget plays with Justin Fields to obvious and predictable run calls, it appears Smith is wasting the talented arm of QB Russell Wilson.
It is understandable that Smith would attempt to run the ball in large quantities behind an offensive line that struggles with pass protection. However, Wilson has proven time and...
For the first time this season, the Pittsburgh Steelers lost a game started by QB Russell Wilson. The Steelers went to Cleveland and fell to the Browns, 24-19, in what ended up a snowstorm. It was a disappointment for a Steelers team looking to build on a big win over the Baltimore Ravens last Sunday. […]
To the victor go the spoils. For the Cleveland Browns, they’re enjoying their biggest win of the season. Upsetting the Pittsburgh Steelers, 24-19, on primetime television/streaming, DE Myles Garrett the star of the show. Three first-half sacks on QB Russell Wilson to give him 10 for the season, Garrett vaulting to second in the league […]
The Browns star didn’t hold back
The Steelers were dealt their third loss on Thursday night when the Browns defeated Pittsburgh 24-19. Cleveland earned the victory in large part because their star edge rusher showed up while Pittsburgh’s pass rush did not.
Myles Garrett finished the game with three sacks and a forced fumble and was one of the Browns’ top difference-makers in their win. He had some words for the Steelers, Steelers fans, and T.J. Watt after the game.
“I’ve got a lot of respect for [Watt], a lot of respect for all of the guys over there... but...
