The Pittsburgh Steelers have released linebacker Kana’i Mauga from their practice squad, the team announced on Wednesday.
The Steelers signed Mauga on Dec. 3, and he was not elevated from the practice squad and did not appear in a game during his two weeks with the club.
The Steelers released him to make room for long snapper Cal Adomitis on the practice squad.
Before singing with the Steelers, Mauga most recently was with the Los Angeles Chargers, being released on Oct. 7 after signing with the club on May 12.
Originally an undrafted free agent out of USC for the...
A couple of new Pittsburgh Steelers have gotten surprisingly close this season.
New Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver DK Metcalf and defensive back Jalen Ramsey battled each other in the NFC West for several years as members of the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams. However, the two former rivals have now formed an unlikely bond in Pittsburgh.
Metcalf recently revealed that he and Ramsey talk before taking the field every week.
“Before every game, it’s like, ‘I need you 4. I got you 5.’ That’s how it is. It’s like a brotherhood now,” Metcalf said on The Christian Kuntz Podcast....
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network provided the latest on Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt’s recovery after undergoing unexpected lung surgery that kept him out of Monday night’s game against the Miami Dolphins.
Watt suffered a partially collapsed lung last Wednesday after undergoing a dry needling procedure following his workout at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex. He was taken to a local hospital and had a procedure to repair the injury, and was released.
“Starting with Steelers star linebacker T.J. Watt, who has not practiced this week and now appears unlikely to return to action on Sunday against the Lions. Watt...
The Pittsburgh Steelers have signed long snapper Cal Adomitis, a Pitt and Central Catholic alum, to their practice squad, the team announced on Friday.
The Adomitis singing comes after a knee injury limited starting long snapper Christian Kuntz during the team’s practice on Thursday. Since becoming the team’s primary long snapper at the start of the 2021 season, Kuntz had not missed a game, playing in 82 consecutive contests.
Adomitis, 27, spent the last three seasons as the long snapper for the Cincinnati Bengals, having emerged as a starter after going undrafted out of Pitt in 2022. He was waived...

Another potential option at wide receiver is off the board for the Pittsburgh Steelers.
The Pittsburgh Steelers made an attempt to land wide receiver Jakobi Meyers from the Las Vegas Raiders at the NFL trade deadline. However, they were outbid by the Jacksonville Jaguars, who acquired the veteran wide receiver on a one-year deal.
Unfortunately, for those still holding out hope that the Steelers could potentially land him as a free agent in 2026, that is no longer a possibility.
According to ESPN insider Adam Schefter, the Jaguars signed Meyers to a three-year, $60 million deal, locking him up through...
Clemson quarterback Cade Klubnik did not have the kind of senior season that will catapult him into the first round of the 2026 NFL Draft, and he’s taken an unusual step in terms of how he hopes to remedy that. Klubnik, the No. 5 quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft class according to NFL Mock Draft Database, will attend the 2026 East-West Shrine Bowl in an attempt to resurrect his draft stock.
Klubnik had the second-best odds to win the Heisman Trophy in the preseason and had Clemson among the College Football Playoff national champion favorites. The season didn’t go...
The Pittsburgh Steelers’ offense has been inconsistent this season. However, it’s currently on a hot streak with good showings in the Steelers’ last two games. Aaron Rodgers and DK Metcalf in particular are starting to connect better. Former NFL quarterback Phil Simms doesn’t believe that will continue this week against the Detroit Lions, though. “I […]

Welcome to Steelers Morning Rush, our new daily short-form podcast with Alan Saunders, giving a longer perspective on a single news topic surrounding the Pittsburgh Steelers or the National Football League. Today, it’s the roller coaster ride of the 2025 season and whether expectations have — or should have — changed for the Black and Gold.
Things obviously looked bleak over the middle of the season, especially when they lost five games in seven weeks, but two wins in a row, including a crucial AFC North win at Baltimore, has renewed some optimism.
So should we feel differently about these...
Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt was spotted inside the team’s facility Thursday as he continues to recover from the scary lung issue he dealt with last week. The Pittsburgh Steelers have found themselves in plenty of odd game scenarios over the years. That includes the time wide receiver Emmanuel Sanders faked an injury in the Steelers’ 2012 Week 7 game against the Cincinnati Bengals. It was a strange occurrence that resulted in Sanders getting fined $15,000. He recently revealed why he did […]
