Looking at the Pittsburgh Steelers’ actions throughout the pre-draft process, there is a wide array of players and even positions that could feasibly be taken on Day 1. It’s impossible to ignore that they they’ve shown interest in first-round quarterbacks, and that has dominated the conversation surrounding the Steelers for the last week. If you […]
The Pittsburgh Steelers are going to pay outside linebacker T.J. Watt around $40 million per year on a new contract this offseason, and that should be surprising to absolutely no one. It certainly won’t be to the Steelers.
For whatever reason, the idea of paying an edge rusher that amount of money has some Steelers fans up in arms — even to the point of suggesting the absolutely insane idea of trading one of the best defensive players in all of football. We’ll get there in a second.
Let’s start with the salary.
Yes, Watt is worth $40 million. So...
From now until the 2025 NFL Draft, we will scout and create profiles for as many prospects as possible, examining their strengths, weaknesses, and what they can bring to an NFL franchise. These players could be potential top-10 picks, down to Day 3 selections, and priority undrafted free agents. Today, a scouting report on Notre […]

🏈 Mike Tomlin and his wife Kiya took a picture with WNBA star Caitlin Clark and tennis legend Serena Williams at the NFL owners meetings last month. Clark and Williams were at the leagues annual meeting to take part in a panel to discuss women’s sports and the opportunities in flag football.
“To stand beside women who have redefined the game—on the court, in business, and beyond—was something I’ll never forget. It was more than a moment; it was a reminder of what’s possible when...
Steelers reporters seem skeptical that T.J. Watt will see a $40 million per year contract extension from the team, but Ray Fittipaldo sees a compromise. Rather than match or surpass Myles Garrett’s contract in average annual salary, he suggests using a different metric. The Browns swayed Garrett with $89 million in fully guaranteed money, so […]
The Pittsburgh Steelers only have six picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, and despite their lack of draft capital, ESPN’s Dan Graziano doesn’t think it’s out of the question that the team could trade up. On Unsportsmanlike Wednesday morning, Graziano said that it’s not out of the realm of possibility for Pittsburgh to move up […]
After seeing the positive feedback from the article our Jake Brockhoff wrote on his Pittsburgh Steelers Day Three sleeper, Oregon RB Jordan James, I wanted to ask the same of the rest of our Steelers Depot draft team. Below are the Day Three prospects who are true sleepers and present great value in the later […]
The Pittsburgh Steelers have the 21st overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft. At the start of the offseason, it didn’t seem like they’d have any chance at landing a worthwhile quarterback at that spot. However, as the days have come and gone, Shedeur Sanders has started to slide down the draft boards of some, […]
We are now single-digit days away from the start of the 2025 NFL Draft and with that in mind, it’s time to rank the safety prospects in this class.
The running back and interior defensive line classes have dominated the conversation this cycle but this group deserves a love, too. Even though none of these players earned a true first-round grade in my eyes, six of them are currently in the top-100 on my big board which will be released next week. Day two on draft weekend should be viewed as the sweet spot and regardless of which archetype of...
The Giants, like the Browns, continue their trend of examining the same prospects as the Steelers as the draft approaches. Having recently held a private workout with QB Shedeur Sanders, they are set to do the same with two others. Up next are Jalen Milroe and Tyler Shough, both of whom, like Sanders, held pre-draft […]
The Athletic’s draft analyst Dane Brugler compiled his lone seven-round mock draft of the pre-draft cycle with the 2025 NFL Draft just over a week away. With smoke that Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders could fall in the draft, Brugler has him sliding, with his fall ending with the Steelers at No. 21 overall. In addition […]
Player: OL Max Scharping Stock Value: Up Reasoning: After rather a long delay, the Steelers have re-signed Max Scharping. He was technically still a compensatory free agent, but had no takers. Reportedly, he returns on a Veteran Salary Benefit deal. While having no assurances of making the roster, the team is currently thin along the […]
