CLEVELAND — Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Van Jefferson left Thursday night’s game against the Cleveland Browns with a quad injury. He’s standing on the sideline with his helmet, but is questionable to return to action.

Jefferson was injured on a four-yard reception which wound up two yards shy of a first down. He was upended on a tackle by the Browns’ Ronnie Hickman.

A first-year Steeler, Jefferson entered the NFL as the Los Angeles Rams’ 2020 second-round pick. Including the grab that he was shaken up on,...

Weather conditions impact Steelers-Browns Week 12 matchup early

While heavy rain, snow, and wind were expected for Week 12’s Thursday Night Football matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns, not much action could be seen on the field early on. That changed with Steelers kicker Chris Boswell’s 58-yard field goal attempt and Browns punter Corey Bojorquez’s wind-swept punt, both of which highlighted the impact of the unpredictable weather.

With less than 10 minutes remaining in the first quarter, Boswell attempted a 58-yard field goal that appeared to be pushed wide right by a gust of wind at the last second, giving Cleveland favorable field position.

CLEVELAND — Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin hinted that Mike Williams’ snaps should only keep going up, but he has yet to crack the starting lineup. The Steelers are still trying to acclimate Williams into the offense, as Van Jefferson got first-team reps over him on Pittsburgh’s opening drive against the Cleveland Browns on Thursday night.

Williams went from catching the game-winning touchdown in Week 10 to not receiving a single target in Week 11. It’s not the role many imagined he would...

Steelers vs. Browns: Thursday Night Football open thread

Let’s chat

The Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns will kickoff Week 12 in a cold and potentially snowy Cleveland Browns Stadium.

The Steelers are 3.5 point favorites with the over/under set at 36.5. And that is where I’ll be looking for my best bet.

The weather combined with the fact that the Browns will be playing their third-string left tackle make me believe Cleveland won’t be scoring a ton of points. I don’t see a fireworks display happening for the Steelers either, though, in a low-scoring game.

Final Prediction: Browns 17, Steelers 16

Steelers’ quarterback quandary: Grading Russell Wilson and Justin Fields

The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback quandary ended when Russell Wilson was medically cleared from an offseason calf injury. Justin Fields reverted to Wilson’s backup and debuted his limited package in Week 11 against the Baltimore Ravens.

Both players bring unique strengths and weaknesses to the table, but the jury is still out on whether this was the right call.

Ben Rolfe at Pro Football Network recently broke it down like this:

13) Russell Wilson, Pittsburgh Steelers
Grade: C+

Russell Wilson is the poster child for why we set a 100-pass attempt minimum for these rankings. A week...

Mike Tomlin’s 'Thursday Night Football' road record: An in-depth look

As one of the NFL’s most consistent head coaches, Mike Tomlin has built a reputation for his leadership and adaptability over 18 seasons with the Pittsburgh Steelers. However, the numbers paint a more challenging picture when it comes to “Thursday Night Football” games on the road.

A tough road for Mike Tomlin on ‘Thursday Night Football’

According to career stats, Tomlin holds a 2-8 record in road TNF games. While short weeks can be tough on any team, these results highlight the challenges of performing under Thursday night lights, especially in hostile territory. The Steelers’ scoring average during these...

How to watch Steelers vs Browns tonight: Time, streaming info for 'TNF'

The Pittsburgh Steelers (8-2) and Cleveland Browns (2-8) square off in a critical AFC North clash under the primetime lights of “Thursday Night Football.” With visions of playoffs in their heads, the Steelers enter Week 12 riding the wave of a five-game win streak, but the Browns are all but eliminated.

Despite ranking among the league’s worst offenses, the Steelers continue to embody grit and determination. Quarterback Russell Wilson and star wideout George Pickens look to ignite the passing attack, which could be limited due to nasty weather. However, the opportunistic Steelers defense, anchored by T.J. Watt, could dictate this...
