Well ... that went about as well as could be expected.
Though the Cleveland Browns have the edge in this one, there’s an entire second-half left and they’re down just a single touchdown.
How are we feeling, BTSC?
When it rains, it pours. While the weather is actually unfavorable for the Week 12 matchup, the “pouring” refers to Steelers WR Van Jefferson’s quad injury. Aside from George Pickens, who is currently enjoying a breakout season, Pittsburgh has struggled to get consistent production out of their receivers through 11 games in 2024.
Jefferson has totaled 14 receptions on 24 targets for 139 receiving yards and one touchdown. Losing Jefferson to injury would hurt a Steelers wide receiver room already dealing with depth issues.
Pittsburgh traded for WR Mike Williams to address their recent struggles at the position, and the...
The Pittsburgh Steelers entered Week 12’s contest against the Cleveland Browns with a fairly clean injury report. Unfortunately, they did get an injury hit early on in the game, as WR Van Jefferson exited with a quad injury.
Burt Lauten of Steelers PR says he is questionable to return with the injury.

CLEVELAND — Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Van Jefferson left Thursday night’s game against the Cleveland Browns with a quad injury. He’s standing on the sideline with his helmet, but is questionable to return to action.
Jefferson was injured on a four-yard reception which wound up two yards shy of a first down. He was upended on a tackle by the Browns’ Ronnie Hickman.
A first-year Steeler, Jefferson entered the NFL as the Los Angeles Rams’ 2020 second-round pick. Including the grab that he was shaken up on,...
UPDATE (8:56 p.m.). Jefferson is expected to return to the game, per Lauten. UPDATE: Jefferson (quad) is expected to return to tonight's game. — Burt Lauten (@SteelersPRBurt) November 22, 2024 Pittsburgh Steelers WR Van Jefferson suffered a quad injury in Thursday night’s Week 12 matchup with the Cleveland Browns and is questionable to return, per Pittsburgh […]
While heavy rain, snow, and wind were expected for Week 12’s Thursday Night Football matchup between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns, not much action could be seen on the field early on. That changed with Steelers kicker Chris Boswell’s 58-yard field goal attempt and Browns punter Corey Bojorquez’s wind-swept punt, both of which highlighted the impact of the unpredictable weather.
With less than 10 minutes remaining in the first quarter, Boswell attempted a 58-yard field goal that appeared to be pushed wide right by a gust of wind at the last second, giving Cleveland favorable field position.
The Browns...
The post Steelers WR Mike Williams Does Not Start vs. Browns appeared first on Steelers Now.
CLEVELAND — Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin hinted that Mike Williams’ snaps should only keep going up, but he has yet to crack the starting lineup. The Steelers are still trying to acclimate Williams into the offense, as Van Jefferson got first-team reps over him on Pittsburgh’s opening drive against the Cleveland Browns on Thursday night.
Williams went from catching the game-winning touchdown in Week 10 to not receiving a single target in Week 11. It’s not the role many imagined he would...
Despite being the longest-tenured active head coach in the NFL and never having a losing record while also leading the Pittsburgh Steelers to two Super Bowl appearances and a Super Bowl victory, head coach Mike Tomlin has never won the NFL Coach of The Year award. In an interview with Taylor Rooks on Amazon Prime […]
Let’s chat
The Pittsburgh Steelers and Cleveland Browns will kickoff Week 12 in a cold and potentially snowy Cleveland Browns Stadium.
The Steelers are 3.5 point favorites with the over/under set at 36.5. And that is where I’ll be looking for my best bet.
The weather combined with the fact that the Browns will be playing their third-string left tackle make me believe Cleveland won’t be scoring a ton of points. I don’t see a fireworks display happening for the Steelers either, though, in a low-scoring game.
Final Prediction: Browns 17, Steelers 16
What are your predictions for tonight’s game?...
The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback quandary ended when Russell Wilson was medically cleared from an offseason calf injury. Justin Fields reverted to Wilson’s backup and debuted his limited package in Week 11 against the Baltimore Ravens.
Both players bring unique strengths and weaknesses to the table, but the jury is still out on whether this was the right call.
Ben Rolfe at Pro Football Network recently broke it down like this:
13) Russell Wilson, Pittsburgh Steelers
Grade: C+Russell Wilson is the poster child for why we set a 100-pass attempt minimum for these rankings. A week...
The Pittsburgh Steelers will seek to make it six in a row on the road against the Cleveland Browns in what could very well end up their first snow game of the season. It’s football weather, and how better to celebrate that than with a showdown in the AFC North. The Browns’ season is already […]
