The Pittsburgh Steelers are expecting big things out of third-round running back Kaleb Johnson, and the rookie has already taken a liking to his position coach. Speaking to the media after Pittsburgh’s final OTA session today, Johnson said he’s already built a strong rapport with running backs coach Eddie Faulkner. “I love that man. Me […]
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers took the field for OTA practice No. 6 at UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on Thursday, their final session of the two-week period, and first-round draft pick Derrick Harmon has been the center of attention for many.
Harmon has put in good work for the last two weeks, and he’s done so with Cam Heyward, the Steelers’ veteran leader, looking over his shoulder. Heyward had Harmon ready to go for practice on Thursday.
Elsewhere, the offense doubled up on a ball security drill, Roman Wilson worked on his vertical, Cameron Johnston is back to booming punts...
The Pittsburgh Steelers hosted free agent wide receiver Gabe Davis on Thursday, but it’s expected that he’ll leave the team’s facility without signing a contract, confirmed by Steelers Now. Chris Halicke of DKPittsburghSports was the first to report.
Davis totaled 20 receptions for 239 yards and two touchdowns through 10 games in Jacksonville last season. He missed half of the go-round because of a minor knee surgery, and the Jaguars released Davis after a failed physical.
Davis also had visits with the San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants this offseason.
Before inking a three-year, $39 million free-agent deal with...
The 2024 season was an interesting one for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Much of that was because of their quarterback situation. It felt like Russell Wilson was always going to be their starter, but an injury kept him out for the first six weeks of the season. That gave Justin Fields an opportunity to showcase his […]
Veteran Robert Woods thinks Pittsburgh Steelers second-year wide receiver Roman Wilson has a promising future.
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers are hoping to see big things from wide receiver Roman Wilson, who missed most of his rookie season due to injuries. Veteran Robert Woods is confident they’ll get just that from their second-year wide receiver.
“Coming to work ready to work,” Woods said of Wilson. “Coming out here, you see he’s fast and skillful, but when you see his approach, taking the details to improve his game. He had a great week this week. He had some big, explosive plays....
PITTSBURGH — A Backyard Brawl alum, Zach Frazier didn’t say he wouldn’t disrespect a Pitt logo. Maybe the second-year Pittsburgh Steelers center would do things just a little differently than his defensive back teammate and fellow West Virginia product, Beanie Bishop.
“I mean, I wouldn’t take a video of it,” Frazier said after Thursday’s OTA practice.
Bishop, however, did film and post himself demonstrating his dislike for the former rival Panthers, wiping his shoe on a script logo in the shared UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on Tuesday.
“Honestly, I haven’t even saw it, but I don’t even know why there’s...
The Steelers didn’t get a deal done with Gabe Davis, according to a recent report
The Pittsburgh Steelers hosted free-agent wide receiver Gabe Davis for a visit on Thursday, and the overwhelming belief was that the Steelers would sign the veteran wideout to a short-term deal to be their WR2 for the 2025 season. However, according to a recent report from Chris Halicke of DK Pittsburgh Sports, a deal did not get done.
Per Halicke, Davis left Pittsburgh without signing a contract. He is coming off the worst year of his career, catching just 20 passes after signing a three-year...
The Pittsburgh Steelers are hosting veteran WR Gabe Davis today as a potential late addition to an already crowded room. He would be a potential WR2 candidate, which leaves the rest of the room with even more competition. That external pressure doesn’t seem to be fazing them. Robert Woods is the latest to speak about […]
Each year, Rotoworld/NBC Sports’ Patrick Daugherty releases his list of NFL general manager rankings. Most years, the Pittsburgh Steelers rank high on the list. But Omar Khan has his work cut out for him, failing to make even the top half of Daugherty’s list this season. Instead, Khan is ranked 19th leaguewide as the Steelers […]
Pittsburgh Steelers guard Mason McCormick is confident in the offensive line’s ability to take the next step in 2025.
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers have invested a ton of draft capital into their offensive line over the past couple of years. Second-year guard Mason McCormick believes it’s time to put up or shut up.
“We’ve been developing and it’s definitely time for us to step up, and I think we’re excited,” McCormick said. “We’re ready. We’re just gonna keep attacking every day and the result will keep getting better.”
McCormick actually has the least amount of investment as a fourth-round...
The Steelers clear a roster space for a new signing
It was announced on Wednesday that the Pittsburgh Steelers were signing veteran safety Quindell Johnson, who had spent time with the Los Angeles Rams, Chicago Bears, and San Francisco 49ers prior to joining the Steelers. To make way for this move, the Steelers are releasing defensive back Joshua Bledsoe, the team announced.
Bledsoe hasn’t appeared in a regular-season game since 2023. In his career, he’s appeared in four regular-season games with the New England Patriots after being drafted in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft out of Missouri....
