The Steelers beat themselves more than the Browns beat them
It’s not that the Steelers lost to the Browns, it’s how they lost - shortcomings on the defensive side of the ball, awful execution in short-yardage situations, and several questionable coaching decisions.
Now, if you read the staff picks, you know I picked the Browns to win. The Steelers had never won a road divisional game on Thursday night games, and they were coming off their toughest test of the season against the Ravens in a hard-fought game. Additionally, they had won five straight and were due for a loss....
There was some confusion late in the fourth quarter after the Cleveland Browns failed to convert a 3rd and 2 and were called for illegal touching. The Steelers opted to accept the penalty instead of forcing the Browns to go for it on fourth down trailing 19-18. Cleveland converted on 3rd and 7 on a […]
Thursday Night Football was anything but good for the Pittsburgh Steelers. After beating the Baltimore Ravens, they had plenty of momentum, but it didn’t seem like they could do anything right against the Cleveland Browns. The Steelers eventually made it a closer game, but they came out of the gate slow as molasses. Mike Tomlin […]
Winners and losers from the Pittsburgh Steelers’ 24-19 loss against the Cleveland Browns Thursday night. WINNERS RB Jaylen Warren Warren ran hard and was the better back between he and Najee Harris. His kind of game and his contact balance remain elite. He got over the goal line for the team’s first touchdown midway through […]
The Pittsburgh Steelers traveled to Cleveland and lost there for the fifth time in six games by the score of 24-19. Credit the Steelers for coming back down 18-6 at one point before taking a 19-18 lead but ultimately losing. Here are my quick-hitting thoughts on the game. Offense -Sloppy start for the offense. Penalties […]

The “war” between the Cleveland Browns’ Myles Garrett and the Pittsburgh Steelers’ T.J. Watt took center focus in Thursday’s game between the two teams. Even though it’s made much more of a big deal than it should be, it clearly means something to them. You could hear it in Garrett’s emotional post-game interview following the […]

CLEVELAND — Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens was involved in a fight with Cleveland Browns cornerback Greg Newsome II in the end zone after the final whistle in Thursday night’s 24-19 loss.
Pickens got into a tussle with Newsome after Wilson’s Haily Mary pass fell incomplete. The fight wasn’t captured during the broadcast, but Pickens was seen being held back by security near the stands.

The Pittsburgh Steelers have fallen to 8-3 after an ugly road loss to the Cleveland Browns (3-8) on a short week. It was a brutal showing with highs and lows (...but mostly lows) ...
It was an ugly game from the jump — exactly the type of AFC North game you would have expected when envisioning these two divisional rivals. After starting off as a snowy, but manageable game, the weather escalated throughout the evening, ending in what would probably be labeled by most NFL fans as a full-out blizzard.
The first quarter offered Steelers fans four total first...

CLEVELAND — The Pittsburgh Steelers road woes in Cleveland continue. The Steelers battled a lake-effect snowstorm, their own poor play, and their oldest rivals, losing a 24-19 decision to the Browns on Thursday.
The Steelers have now won just one game in Cleveland since the 2017 season, falling to 1-5-1 at the building now known as Huntington Bank Field in that span. They also fell to 0-8 overall and 0-6 under head coach Mike Tomlin in road Thursday Night Football games within...
It wouldn’t be a Pittsburgh Steelers loss if there wasn’t some drama involving George Pickens after the final whistle. For the second time this season—the first against the Dallas Cowboys—George Pickens was involved in some extracurriculars after the game ended. This time, it appeared to be with Cleveland Browns CB Greg Newsome II, and it […]
The Pittsburgh Steelers played an awful game. Mike Tomlin’s performance was just as bad as those who took the field. One of Tomlin’s several questionable decisions came late in the game, accepting an illegal-touching penalty to turn a 4th and 2 into a 3rd and 7. It was a confusing sequence, the refs taking time […]
The Pittsburgh Steelers offense sputtered for most of the night and despite taking the lead in the fourth quarter, a late touchdown by RB Nick Chubb lifted the Cleveland Browns over the Pittsburgh Steelers in a 24-19 win. The Browns deferred on the coin toss so Pittsburgh opened up with the ball. The drive looked […]
