UNITY TWP., Pa. — Pittsburgh Steelers rookie quarterback Will Howard confirmed that he suffered his broken right pinky finger due to a quarterback/center exchange in last Tuesday’s practice. He called it a “freak accident.”

The Pittsburgh Steelers have given several veteran days off to respective players throughout camp. One player who has missed a week of practice due to injury, though, is wide receiver Calvin Austin.

The severity of the injury, and exactly what the injury was remained under wraps for quite some time. The Steelers didn’t seem overly concerned about it, but questions still remained. Now, we have been given some clarity on the issue.
