Field Gulls
Are you ready for some Seattle Seahawks football? Well, we’re still a couple of months out from their preseason opener against the Dallas Cowboys, but we can piece together some more training camp information for July!
The NFL has announced dates for when rookies and veterans are supposed to report to camp. For the Seahawks, rookies have to make their way to the Virginia Mason Athletic Center on July 17, while veterans must report on July 24. Seattle’s first training camp practice is July 25 and is one of 10 practices open to the public.
Meanwhile, the Seahawks will be practicing with the Tennessee Titans on Aug. 21 in Nashville. Two days later, Seattle and Tennessee will have the actual preseason game, but you can probably bet that starters for both teams will be sitting that one out.
Seattle has made it a point to have scrimmages under Mike Macdonald, something the team hadn’t done in over three decades. The drastic increase in joint practices seems to be the new way to get real work in for starters without subjecting them to anything risky in the preseason itself.
Field Gulls will be at a few of these training camps, by the way. Be on the lookout for news on that front and our coverage plans from both VMAC and Lumen Field!
