It’s roster churn season, and the Seahawks have added a new name to the competition on the defensive line.
The calendar has quickly reached the end of July, and for the Seattle Seahawks that means it is time for training camp.
Training camp means many things, including the optimism of fans hitting fever pitch, and teams churning through the fringes of the roster in hopes of finding a diamond in the rough.
To that end, on Tuesday the Seahawks announced that they had made a pair of transactions on the interior of the defensive line.
Added to the roster was...
With the 2025 season quickly approaching, a quick 30,000 foot flyover of where Seattle stands on cap space.
The first padded practice of 2025 is in the books for the Seattle Seahawks, and as is the case every August, fans are excited about the potential for the upcoming season.
Still another week remains until the Seahawks will host Pete Carroll and the Las Vegas Raiders in the preseason opener at Lumen Field on Thursday, August 7, and there is absolutely no shortage of excitement for the potential of the revamped roster.
In addition, for the first time in more than...
Training camp is heating up across the NFL.
Two days until the first NFL preseason game, less than two weeks before the Seattle Seahawks’ preseason opener, and two days until I’m packing my bags to head up to Seattle for training camp practice! Top story from yesterday on the Seahawks front is how well the defense played in pads, while the top theme in the NFL was several players putting pen to paper on new contracts. A couple of those extensions were to left tackles... hint hint, re Charles Cross?
Here are your links! Terrance will be back this week...
The pads were on, the physicality increased, but Mike Macdonald wasn’t pleased with what he saw on offense.
The Seattle Seahawks began Week 2 of training camp on Monday with their first padded practice. When the pads come on, the intensity and physical nature of practice tends to ramp up, and usually by the end of the week it leads to the odd skirmish here and there. Nothing to report on the roughhousing front, but there was some rough news that was confirmed by Coach Mike Macdonald.
Let’s get to the Day 5 recap!
[**Kenny McIntosh’s season...
A lot of tough decisions coming soon for the Seahawks.
The Seattle Seahawks hit the practice field on Monday for Week 2 of training camp. Pads will be worn for the first time this offseason and the intensity will undoubtedly be upped as the team nears its preseason opener on Aug. 7.
Based on on-site training camp reports, an unfortunately major injury, and my gut feelings, I think it’s time for another Seahawks 53-man roster projection. As always, whatever the Week 1 regular season roster is has zero chance of being the roster you’ll see throughout the year.
**Offense...
Seahawks sign rookie DK Kaufman to replace Kenny McIntosh.
The Seattle Seahawks have officially placed running back, Kenny McIntosh on injured reserve after the third-year back suffered a reported torn ACL in last weekend’s practice. McIntosh played limited snaps last year, but in those limited opportunities he shined, averaging 5.5 yards on 31 carries, for 172 yards. McIntosh will look to bounce back in 2026.
To fill that empty roster spot, the Seahawks have signed rookie running back, DK Kaufman. Kaufman, who went undrafted out of NC State was a Seahawks minicamp tryout player. Kaufman interestingly played defensive back in...
After stops in Cincinnati and New Orleans last week, the next stop for the free agent is reportedly set to be South Beach.
It has been barely a week since the Seattle Seahawks opted to move on from tight end Noah Fant, creating some additional cap space for the team and rendering Fant a free agent.
Just days after the transaction, Fant met with the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday, followed by a free agent visit with the New Orleans Saints on Friday. However, apparently nothing to Fant’s liking materialized out of either of those meetings, and Fant’s free agent tour...
They love to hate us.
The NFL continues to relax and improve their uniform policies, and the Seattle Seahawks get to be all about that during the 2025 season.
A new venture comes this year: Rivalry matchups, with a uniform to be debuted by the home team against one of their divisional opponents.
I say “one of” the division, but that’s not really true, because all three teams in the NFC West will have their rivalry jersey unveiled against....the Seahawks.
Oh yes. Seattle’s so popular. In one month, we’ll get to see what the Seattle rivalry jersey itself will look...
Some injuries are more immediately serious than others.
Happy Monday! Field Gulls will be on the road at the end of this week for Seattle Seahawks training camp, so watch out for some of our own in-person observations as well as a couple of live podcasts from Downtown Seattle. Details to come soon!
Today’s links theme is about injuries, I’m afraid. Kenny McIntosh isn’t the only one on the mend. The Arizona Cardinals lost an up-and-coming cornerback, the Los Angeles Rams are being cautious with Matthew Stafford’s back, and the San Francisco 49ers had a scare on Sunday on multiple...

Let’s be real, preseason can be a little bit difficult to get through.
We’re less than two weeks away from the first Seattle Seahawks preseason game, a home date against the Las Vegas Raiders. Anybody know who their new head coach is? What about their new starting quarterback?
In today’s NFL, preseason games are fewer than they used to be and starters scarcely play. It wasn’t too long ago when the first and last preseason games were just a procession of backups and rookies, while the second and third games were viewed as dress rehearsals with significant playing time for...
The promising young back had a chance to shine in 2025.
