We are in full theory crafting season. With the preseason right around the corner, many are trying to predict team rosters and where teams rank heading into the preseason. ESPN has released their roster rankings for all 32 teams and projected the teams starting line ups. Mike Clay, Aaron Schatz, and Seth Walder worked together on these rankings. Clay worked on the starting line ups and each teams strengths and weaknesses. Schatz identified players who were not starters who could be a key player during the season. There was a time when Seattle Seahawks training camp was defined by uncertainty at the top of the roster. That’s not really the case anymore.
Mike Macdonald enters Year 3 with a much clearer picture of what his team is supposed to look like. The quarterback situation is stable, much of the offensive line returns with continuity, and the defensive core is largely intact. Instead of fighting to identify starters, Seattle is now fine-tuning a roster that already looks competitive on paper.
That changes the nature of training camp.

The Super Bowl champion Seattle Seahawks were on hand for one of the biggest matches the United States men’s national soccer team has ever played. Unfortunately, the USA picked the worst time to lose their undefeated record at Seattle Stadium/Lumen Field, and their dreams of a deep run in the 2026 FIFA World Cup are now over.

The Seattle Seahawks 2026 rookie class may not feature a long list of immediate starters, but that doesn’t mean this group won’t make an impact this season.
With Mike Macdonald entering his third year and the roster becoming increasingly competitive, earning playing time will be more difficult than it was for previous rookie classes. At the same time, several positions remain unsettled, creating opportunities for young players who can impress throughout training camp.
Some will have to fight for rotational snaps, others will likely begin on special teams, and a few may simply be preparing for larger roles in 2027....

The Seattle Seahawks were very busy in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL Draft after previous trades including the one with the Green Bay Packers that netted them No. 236 (Andre Fuller) and No. 255 for No. 216. John Schneider made it 50% secondary picks in the draft, choosing his fourth new member of the DB group in cornerback Michael Dansby from Arizona.
